Silent Auction Is Tau Chapter Meeting Feature A silent auction was held at Winterseen school on Saturday, November 21, by the members of Tau Chapter, Delta Kappa Gam ma. Mrs. Faith Friesc was chair man of the .auction, and Helen Coulter was chairman of the breakfast preceding the meeting. After tha business meeting, a program on "Christmas Around the World" was presented by Kathryn Ellis of Weeping Wa ter. Gleaners Circle Of WSCS Meets At Church Parlors Gleaners Circle of the Wo men's Society of Christian Ser vice of the Methodist church met Thursday evening at the church with 16 members and two guestr. present. Catholic Daughters , Enjoy Social Event , At Iverson Home Tuesday, November 17, 1&53, members of the Catholic Dau ghters of America, Court of Our Lady of Loretto No. 709, attend ed their scheduled November social meeting at the home ' of Eleanor Iverson. Honored guests of the local court were Betty Morehead, Rcse Richter, Helen Bellinger, Ka'hryr. Sandin. Mary Keely and Lucille Asplin. The next scheduled ousiness meeting is to be held at the home of Frances Janda on Tues day, December 1, 1953 at eight o'clock p. m. Sunnyside Farm , Bureau Unit Has Monthly Meeting Sunnyside Farm Bureau unit met at the Taylor School on Fri day evening, November 20 for their regular monthly meeting. A covered dish dinner wTas held at 6:30, followed by the regular business session. Attending: the meeting were Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Wehrbein and family, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Meisinger Mr. and Mrs. Sterling Ingwerson and family. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Nolting and family and Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Born. The next unit meeting will be held at the Sterling Ingwerson home on January 8, combining the December and January meetings. An oyster stew dinner will be held at 6 p. m. followed by a social evening. Eighteen Attend Kenosha Extension Club Meeting ' ' I Kenosha Extension Club met at the home of Mrs. Oval Snod grass on November 18 with ten members answering roll call. Al so present were three visitors, Mrs. Bertha Shrader, Mrs. Ruth Toman and Mrs. Wanda Con- radt. I Minutes of ihe previous meet- ing were read and approved and club members selected six les sons for next year in addition' to the regular lessons. Mrs. Eli zabeth Snodgrass was . voted song leader and members will make aluminum trays some time next year as tart of their pro gram. Mrs. Toman and Mrs. Conrad tj joined the club. The next meeting wall be at the home of Mrs. Nellie Sack. Members are to bring a 50 cent I gift for exchange in the Christ ma': grab bag. Delicious lunch was served by the hostesses. Resignation of Mrs. LaVetta Baumgart as treasurer also add ed to the group's business. Mrs. Baumgart 's resignation was ac cepted by ihe unit and Mrs. Wilma Hennings was elected as her successor. Mrs. Verna Per ry and Mrs. Ruth Krings were named to the executive board in other balloting. The new of ficers will be installed by Mrs. Helen Vroman at the next meet ing. Reports were given by Mrs. Vera Warga on the county con vention held a'i Union recently and Mrs. Verna Perry reported on members who are ill. Child Welfare Chairman Mrs. Emma McClure outlined plans for Christmas baskets to be dis tributed to families and Miss Ida Patton, rehabilitation chair- man, anounced plans for the apron and bake sale to be held in December. A report by Secretary Mrs. Warga explained that 4,000 poppies has been ordered. Mrs. Mae Favors, membershi chairman also urged that dues be paid. The group has announced that gif.s for the Yanks dona tions may be left at Feldhousen Drug, Conis Cigar Store, at the Plattsmouth Journal with Mrs. Sophia Wolever and with Mrs. Vera Warga, secretary, or any other Auxiliary or post mem bers. Christmas pariy plans with the post were considered, and a date for the event is to be se lected. Mrs. Russell Nielsen was named chairman. A gift ex change will be held.
