There were 15 members present. Mrs. E. J. Boedeker, president, presided at the regular business meeting. Mrs. Henry Knaup gave two lessons. The topic of one was "Walk With Beauty" and the other, "Grooming Study." Mrs. Cook served a delicious lunch. The next meeting will be October 20 with Mrs. J. M. Ranney and Mrs. Lester Parson as the hostesses. Weeping Watrr The executive committee of the Weeping Water P-TA met Monday night at the home of the new president, Mrs. Ralph Raines. The first regular meet ing of the P-TA this fall will be on Monday night, September 28 at the school auditorium. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Day drove to Osceola Wednesday where they were guests of Judge and Mrs. Leon Merrick. - The two couples attended a 25th wedding anniversary picnic given by Osceola friends for Judge and Mrs. Merrick. The two couples shared honors in the event, having repeated their marriage vows in a double ring ceremony 25 years ago. Mr. and Mfa Day returned home Thurs day. Wwpini; Water Birthday Luncheon Honors Five Ladies A nice attendance was at the Christian Women's Fellowship birthday luncheon which was held on Thursday at one o'clock. Mrs. Henry Knaup, Mrs. John Rieke, Mrs. Edith Wiles, Mrs. Raich Lindsey and Mrs. Lynn Rothe had birthdays in the past three months. "Happy Birth day" was sang to the ladies. Mrs. Merle Nannen baked the birth day cake. Mrs. Rothe presided at the short business meeting. The minutes of the last meeting were read by Mrs. Edward Van Horn. Mrs. Horace Morris re signed from being secretary and Mrs. Charles Freeman was unanimously voted in as the new secretary. The group voted to place a bid for the Farm Bu reau banquet which will be held in October. Mrs. John Alber has invited the Christian Women's Fellow ship to meet at her home in Lincoln for the next meeting on October 1. Mrs. Nannen and Mrs. Leo Christensen will be two of the ladies that will take cars. VVeenin? Water Twenty-One Attend Legion Auxiliary Meeting Tuesday The American Legion Auxili ary met on Tuesday night, Sept. 15 at the Legion Hall. Twentv one members and three eruests, Mrs. Stewart Earl. Mrs. Gobel man. district secretary-treasurer and Mrs. Violet Atteberv, district president, were present. Mrs. Neil Fitznatrick, vice president, presided at the meet ing until Mrs. John Bender, president, arrived to carry on the meetine. A committee was chosen to go ! to the state headauarters in Lin coln to straighten out some problems that have come up over memberships, both old and new. The following: are ort the committee: Mrs. John Bender, Mrs. George Smith. Mrs. Claire Beach and Mrs. Ralph Keckler. Mrs. John Bender, Mrs. Lvnn Parson and Mrs. Laurence Wise man are the delegates that were chosen to attend the district convention which will be held in Louisville on October 7. Alternates chosen were Mrs. Robert McVay, Mrs. Sterling Amick. Jr., and Mrs. Robert Dennis. Miss Betty Burden was select ed by the Auxiliary to be a Countess at the Kin? Korn Kar nivl to be held in Plattsmouth. Mrs. Lvnn Parson, secretary, has membership pins for those members interested in purchaa ine one. The membership drive, head ed by Mrs. Robert McVay, chair man, has yielded 11 new mem bers with many more, applica- , tions out. Evervone was eiven . names of nossibl members to contact.
