Shellenbarger Has 150 Scholarship To Iowa State Iowa State College has award ed general scholarships totaling $29,050 to 168 students as part of the financial aid to be given this year. The scholarships are for one year. Among the scholarship win ners is Jerome Shellenbarger, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clair E. Shellenbarger, who has already enrolled in the school. Shellen barger was awarded a merit scholarship for undergraduates, established through state ap propriations for $150. Fifty nine students received the awards. Family Day Noted At Board Meeting Tuesday was family day for the county bflird of commis sioners. Richard Bornemeier, i-ori of rommissioner and Mrs. Herman Bornemeier, 'passed out cigars in recognition of his son, Tom, born two weeks ago; and Mrs. Ray Norris. wife of the Commis sioner spent the day here. Louisville Mr. and Mrs. Lee Jochim and Mr. and Mrs. Herman Schliefert spent Thursday and Friday at the Iowa state fair in Des Moines. Also Comedy, Disney Cartoon and News Matinee Sunday 2:30 Nights 7:00 & 9:15 u i v BURGER IN A BLANKET , BURGER-IN-A-BLANKET Crush enough crackers to mate V2 CUP crumbs., Mix together hamburger, 1 egg, slightly beaten, fa cup cracker crumbs, fa cup drained horseradish, fa CUP 'A Catsup, I tsp. celery salt, fa SP salt, 14 tsp. pepper. Shape Into 6 squares. Place on greased baking sheet; bake at 375 F. 20 minutes.' Meat potatoes to-serving temperature; drain and mash. Gradually add 12 cup hot milk, 2 tbs. grated onion, I tsp. salt, fa tsp. pepper. Beat until fluffy. Spread mashed potatoes over tops and sides of squares. Place under broiler 3 inches from source of heat for 3 minutes. PIEBURGER ... Melt fa cup Sno-Kreem Shortening. Cook hamburger, I fa cups chopped onions, fa cups chopped celery, 2 cup chopped green pepper in shortening until onion and celery are soft. Add soup, 2 tbs. prepared IGA Mustard, fa cup IGA Catsup, fa tsp. salt to hamburger mixture. Mix fa cup grated cheese with pastry mix; prepare mix, roll out according to directions cn package. Fit pastry into 9" pie pan. Pour hamburger mixture into pastry. Top with remaining pastry cut into 6 wedge-s-haped pieces. Bake et 425 F. 35-40 minutes. STROGANOFF QUICKIE ... In a bowl combine hamburger, fa tsp. Tabasco sauce, fa CUP 'A Chili Sauce, I tsp. salt. Crush enough saltines to make J2 cup fine crumbs. Add cracker crumbs to hamburger mixture. Shape ham burger into 18 balls. Drain mushrooms, Melt 2 tbs. Sno-Kreem Shortening; add meat balls and mushrooms. Cook until lightly browned. Add sour cream and cook over low heat to serving temperature. Cook noodles according to directions on package. Drain. Mix 2 tbs. chopped parsley with IGA Noodles. Serve meat ball mixture over noodles. ' BURGERETTES . . . Mix together hamburger, 2 tsp. onion juice, 2 egg yolks, 1 tsp." salt, fa tsp. pepper. Shape into 30 balls. Cut 6-8 slices bread into I fa" rounds; toast. Place a hamburger ball on each toast round. Make a hole in the middle of each ball by pressing down through the meat to the toast.
