They visited relatives at Telford and Knoxville and found the country very dry. The tobacco crops were in need of rain. Second Lieut, and Mrs. Allen Hansen returned home Friday from their honeymoon at Lake Okoboji. Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Becker, Lincoln, and Catherine Hansen, who is their guest, srent the day Wednesday at the Fred Hansen home. Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Hansen called at the Lutheran hospital, Omaha, to see Clarence Ross Friday. Staff Sgt. Boyd Francisco, Westover, Mass., was a guest at the Jack Hines home recently. 8. Sgt. Francisco was a former Nehawka resident. He was on his way to Minneapolis to visit his father and then left for the Hawaiian Islands. Levonda Murdoch attended a home economics conference in Lmcoln the past week. She left Tuesday morning for Fullerton, Nebr., where she will teach home economics this school year. Dora and Bill Kemp, Avoca; Mr. and Mrs. Maynard Kemp, Nebraska City, were guests Sun day afternoon of Mr. and Mrs. John Bucholz. Miss Janis Schmittmann, ac companied by a sorority sister, Miss Doris Newman, of Lincoln, will leave Tuesday for Pueblo, Colo. The ladies will teach in the Pueblo schools this year, and have an apartment at 911 Lake St. Among the newcomers in Plattsmouth are Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Shown, who arrived re cently from Ohio. Mr. Shown is associated with the Allied Chem ical plant north of town. They have four children, Joe, Jimmy, Marvi Dene and Ann Rhea, and are living at 211 North 7th St. Mr. and Mrs. George McFad den will have a farm sale Mon day, August 24 at their farm. The sale starts at 11 o'clock. Mr. and Mrs. McFadden will move to Lincoln to make thetr home about September 1. Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Kime and Marlin returned home Wed nesday from a ten day vacation to Colorado Springs, Grand Lake and Estes Park, Colo. Gladys Nixon went to Bland. She is now out of isolation and shows some improvement. Mrs. Lillie and daughter, Ann, are guests of her mother, Mrs, Ruth Lundberg. Mr. Lillie arrived Sunday from Atlanta to be with Mrs. Lillie. The family from the longest distance was Mrs. Richard Gulzow and chil dren, Gretchen and Kurt, West Monroe, La. Mr. and Mrs. Har old Dane, Iowa City, stopped en route home from Colorado and attended the reunion. They were overnight guests at the Martin Ross home and left for their home Monday morning.
