Dr. Gilmore is one of the oldest resi dents in Murray, Birthday Supper Honors Daughter A birthday supper was held at the Sheldon Smith home in honor of their daughter's eighth birthday. Guests who helped Carol celebrate were Mr. and Mrs. Miller Hurst and family, Mr and Mrs. Fred Campbell and Mr. and Mrs. Don Campbell and family. Murray '- Jerry Hiatt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dude Hiatt, appeared over WOW TV on the Junior Spotlight Mr. and Mrs. Sheldon Smith .' program on Wednesday evening jerry piayea me guitar ana sang songs and yodeled. Kenton Falk, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Falk of Omaha, vis ited four days last week at the home of his aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Hutchinson. Murray Miss Hiatt Notes ana Carol visited with Mr. and Mrs. Ken Campbell in Lincoln. They enjoyed a picnic at the Pioneer Park to help Carol Smith celebrate her eighth birthday. Mr. and Mrs. John McQuinn of Omaha, former Murray school teachers, were dinner guests at the George Rieke home on Tues day evening. Mr. and Mrs. Lucien Carper are spending their vacation this week in Colorado. Rev. Roy P. Morris returned from a four-week vacation with liis sons in Colorado. Miss Denny Raye Speck was a dinner guest of Phyliss Rieke on Tuesday evening. ' Mr. and Mrs. Lester Hutchin soii were supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Corner Worthan on Monday evening. 11th Birthday Miss Irene Hiatt, daughter of: Mr. and Mrs. Dude Hiatt, cele brated her eleventh birthday at the Murray park on Friday aft- ! ernoon with a group of friends. Those present were Marlyn Mor ris, Carol Smith, Betty Jo Wor than, Darlene and Marlene John son Keith Hiatt and David Mor ris. The group enjoyed the birthday cake and cie cream ! bars. Parcel Post Sale Is Successful The Parcel Post Sale, held by the Ladies' Aid Society on Fri day evening at the Christian church, was attended by a large number of people. The Parcel Post Sale itself was very suc cessful. The Aid ladies served a lunch of sandwiches, cake, cook ies, coffee and tea. Colored slides of Europe were shown by Richard Sack. David Read gave a pantcmine act to a Spike Jones record and Jerry Hiatt sang. Murray Rev. Roy P. Morris, minister of the United Presbyterian church, suffered a heart at tack as he entered the pulpit to give his sermon Sunday and collapsed. Marilyn Ann Hutchinson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Hutchinson, spent four days last week visiting with her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Falk, and family of Omaha. Mr. and Mrs. George Buffing ton and Jnay were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hiatt and family of Tabor on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Crosby were dinner guests on Sunday in the Dude Hiatt home. The dinner was held in honor of the birthdays of Mrs. Crosby ana Irene Hiatt. Murray Families Leave On Vacation "Trip and family and Mr. and Mrs. Sheldon Smith and family left on Saturday morning on a vaca tion trip. They will visit rel atives, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Camp bell, at Ravena. Nebr., then plan to visit at Colorado Springs, Denver and Estes Park. Murray Mr. and Mrs. Lester Hutchin son were luncheon guests at the Sheldon Smith home- on Mon day. CASS COUNTY SHEEP AND BEEF CLUB The Cass County Sheep and Beef Club met August 17 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Royal Smith with all members and four visitors present. Carroll Schmidt, president of the club, opened the meeting. The 4-H pledge and flag salute were giv en by all. The roll call and minutes of the last meeting were read by the secretary, Nola Weiss.
