Avoca Mr. and Mrs. Jack Spor of Kansas City spent the week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wil liam Kepler, ond other relatives here. Mrs. Robert Hollstrom and girls spent several days visiting Rev. and Mrs. Heffner at Syra cuse last week. Avoca Garden Club Meets Recently Garden Club met with Mrs. William Kepler Monday. Com mittees were read for "Flower and Vegetable Show" September 26. Program was "Coffee and Table Arrangements" by Mrs. John Wolph. "Flower Holders" by Mrs. Albert Sill. Avoca Entertains On Son's Birthday Mrs. Willis Fletcher entertain ed at a birthday party for her pon, Stevan Thomas, who was four years old August 3. Those present were Mrs. Robert Holl stram and daughters, Mrs. John Compton and Keith, Mrs. Wil liam Dettmer, Mrs. Clyde Flet cher and Mrs. Gus Neumeister. Avoca Mr. and Mrs. John Lingle, Sr., went to Savannah, Mo., Sunday where she will have surgery Tuesday. Bob Hollstram, Lawrence Wulf, Oscar Zimmerer returned from fishmcr Sundav. Dr. and Mrs. Brendel and Richard Moseman returned from Colorado Sunday. Claude Durham entered Uni versitv hospitol last week where he is to have surgery Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Oelkers and children visited Mr. and Mrs. George Oelkers and family over the week end. Joe Olevine and Lnida of Om aha came down Sunday to see William Gollner. Mr. Gollner is some improved and was able to go to the shop on Sunday. Miss Virginia McCorhindale of Bellevue visited here several days at the Carl Zaiser home. She is going to Battle Creek, Mif h . where she will teach the coming year. Avoca INJURED Roger Neumeister, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Neumeister, was ininrpri while helDins his father fix fence. Eleven stitches were required in his face from the barbed wire.
