NEHAWKA Mrs. F. O. Sand Mr. and Mrs. Joe Pleuller and son of Omaha were guests Sun day of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hojrue. Mrs. Pleuller remained over Monday to be with her mother, who is ill. Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Norton, Lincoln, were dinner guests Sat urday evening of Mrs. Alice Copeland. Mrs. Norton and Mrs. eopeiana are sisters. Mr. and Mrs. Gene Banks, Larry and Lowell, attended the band festival at the high school athletic field at Auburn Sunday afternoon. Wm. Brandt was a dinner puest Sunday of his son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Brandt, Jr., at Avoca. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Meisinger of Murray were additional guests. Mr. and Mrs. John Buchholz and family attended a family dinner at Steinhart Park at Ne braska City Sunday, honoring Mr. Buchholz' mother, Mrs. Herman Buchholz. of Nebraska City, who observed her birthday Julv 15. Present were all eight of Mrs. Buchholz' children and their families, including fortv grandchildren. Mrs. Buchholz returned home with her son, John, and family to spend sev eral weeks. Six Complete First Aid Course Six Nehawka women complet ed the Red Cross First Aid course given at Union. The last lesson was given by Miss Lucille Meisinger of Plattsmouth July 13. Nehawka Phone 2604 Rutledges End Northern Trip Mr. and Mrs. Glen Rutledge returned home Friday from a two-week vacation in Wisconsin and Minnesota. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Burke and Allyn Kay went as far as Tomahawk, Wise, and from there went to their home at Elyria, Ohio. Mr. and Mrs. Rutledge went on to Duluth and Brainard, Minn., and fished at Slyvan Lake for eieht davs. Thev made some very good catches. xoenawKa Mr. and Mrs. Ray McDonald and Evelyn Rae of Omaha, Mar lene Geffrey of Ogalalla were dinner guests Saturday evening of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Anderson. Mrs. Pearl Gregory of Kansas City was an overnight guest Sat urday at the Vance Balfour home. Mrs. John Chalmers and children of Omaha were guests bunday and overnight of the Balfours. John Chalmers ac companied Mrs. Gregory to her home. Mr. and Mrs. Vance Bal four and daughters, Mrs., Chal mers and Janie were dinner guests Sunday of Mrs. A. W. Bedson at Lincoln. The dinner observed 'Mrs. Bedson's birth day. Mrs. Balfour and daugh ters accompanied Mrs. Chalmers to Omaha Friday to spend sev eral days. Ed Knabe returned home Fri day from a business trip and vacation in Perkins county. Mrs. Harold Dodson honored her mother, Mrs. Hildur Lund berg, Tuesday afternoon with a birthday party. Her husband is in the service and is stationed at Guam. The American Legion Auxil iary meeting was postponed un til August 11. The program will include installation of officers, a report on Girl's State by Phyl lis Switzer.
