' .Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Dysart re turied from Salt Lake City last Sunday morning, where they have been visiting their daugh ter, who is ill. i Union ;Woman's Society Meets at Church t The Woman's Society of Christian Service met at the thurch last Thursday afternoon rith Mrs. Faris and Mrs. Ollie Attebery as hostesses. Ten mem bers and Ellen Pausch were present. Devotionals were led jDy Mrs. Todd. The president conducted a short business meet ing after which the hostesses served cooling refreshments. Rathe of Omaha, had under gone a very serious operation lor gall stones at the Lutheran hospital at Omaha last Satur day jnorning. Program Marks End of Bible School Vacation Bible School closed last Friday. On Sunday evening a program was presented to a nice sized audience, in spite of the heat. The attendance had been fine. Total enrollment was forty-four, with an average at tendance first week of 40 and the second week 34. Total av- I erage attendance 4for the two i weeks was 7. Twenty-one pupils had perfect attendance, and more would have been on that i list, but chickenpox moved in I o nH Ironf cnmA fit. hnmc Teachers were Mrs. Russell Easter, Mrs. William Orndorff, Mrs. Gerry Paasch and Mrs. Todd.- Helpers were Mrs. Ran dall Faris, Miss Eleanor Easter, Valda Attebery and Miss Doris Ehlers. The teachers thank everyone who assisted in any way to making our Vacation Bible School a success. Union ' Mr. and Mrs. James Fraus of Kansas City, spent Saturday in Omaha visiting parents of Mrs. Fraus. On Sunday they were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Fraus. They returned to Kansas City on Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Laukheit of Omaha, are spending the week with Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Morris. Mrs. Laukheit and Mrs. Morris are sisters. Plaffsmoulh Air Victim in Civil Defense Test Simulated , low level attack bombers covered Plattsmouth and other Cass county towns Sunday when the South Oma ha CAP squadron furnished four planes to cooperate with Ground Observer Corp activity. Two formations of two planes each made the attacks. In addition to Plattsmouth. similar attacks were made at Bartlett and Rock Bluffs, Io., Weeping Water, Greenwood, Waverly, Ashland. Springfield, Gretna and Papillion. Comments from pilots flying the station were that the ground observer corps at the various towns were apparently well hid den as none could be observed from the air. The flights were made at 500 feet altitude. Pilots recorded the time of crossing village or city limits in each instance and the information was forwarded to CAP personnel cooperating with the Civil Defense, accord ing to Lt. W. H.
