NEHAWKA EVENTS Mrs. F. 0. Sand Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Pollard re turned Wednesday from a busi ness trip to California. They visited with relatives and friends at Long Beach and Los Angeles. On the return trip they spent several days at Alma' and with Mr. and Mrs. Chalmer Switzer at Minden. They were gone two months. Mrs. Mike Myuskovitch and .son, Mickey, of Worland, Wyo., and Mrs. Robert Williams and daughter, Casandra, of North Platte were recent guests of their mother, Mrs. Henry Schwartz. Mrs. Schwart and her daughter, Mrs. Lester Waldo, of Union took them to North Platte and spent several days there. Mrs. John Hansen returned home Thursday from the Meth odist hospital in Omaha. Her condition is improved. Dr. and Mrs. R. R. Andersen and his parents. Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Andersen, of Omaha re turned Sunday from a week's trip to Estes Park, Colo., and the Black Hills. Mrs. Mable Lewis stayed with Gary Andersen dur ing his parents' absence. Mrs. Charles Brewer, Colum bus, Kans., Mrs. Nell Brady and Frank Arthur Shaw of Wier, Kansas came Sunday to spend a week with Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hines. Nehawka Flower Club Votes To Sponsor Show Mrs. Delbert Lindsey, program chairman, used "Roses" as her topic Wednesday at the meet ing of the Nehawka Flower Club at the home of Mrs. George Sheldon. She told members how to plant and care for roses. Mrs. Elmer Stoll presided at the business meeting. Mrs. Del bert Lindsey was elected vice president. Roll call was, "My Favorite Rose". The club vot ed to sDonsor a flower show at Nehawka August 18. A'ehawka Mr. Lloyd Herman, Sidney, Nebr., spent several days the past week with his daughter, Mrs. Glen Masters, and family. Mr. and Mrs. Phil Masters and three daughters, Phyllis Kay, Linette Sue and Judy Ann, left for their home at Broadwater, Nebr.. after snending several days with the Glen Masters family. Phone 2604 Medical Grad Is Recognized Mr. and Mrs. Alvin McRey nolds attended commencement exercises at Joslyn Memorial Saturday morning for their nephew, Robert Sullivan Behrns, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Behrns, of Omaha. He graduat ed from the University School of Medicine. In recognition of Ms superior scholarship, Mr. Behrns was elected to Alpha Omesa Alpha. He interned at the University hospital in Oma ha the past vear and leaves soon for Detroit 'for further training. Nehawka. Mr. and Mrs. Emery Field and two daughters of Oroville, Calif., who spent their vacation with Mrs. Field's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hall Pollard, went to Oma ha Thursday to be overnieht guests of Dr. and Mrs. Elton Newman. . A picnic Sunday at Pioneer Park in Lincoln honored Arnold O'Connor, who is home on a 30 day leave. Present were Mr. Claude O'Connor and son. Ar nold, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford O' Connor and two daughters of Nehawka, Miss Vesta O'Connor of Omaha, Mr. and Mrs. Paul O'Connor and family of Lincoln, Mr. and Mrs. Claude O'Connor, Jr., and daughter of Fairbury. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Johnson of Casoer. Wyo., came Sundav to visit Mr. Johnson's sister, Mrs. Lena Schlichtemeier. Mr. and Mrs. Robert McCona ha and two sons of Ontaria, Ore., arrived Tuesday to spend several weeks with Mrs. Mc Conaha's parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. B. Stone, and other relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Stone return ed to their home at Tucson, Ariz., Thursday morning. Mrs. Clark Kuoninger and sons. Mickey and Kipp, of Kan sas City, Kans.. came Tuesday to spend several days with Mr. and Mrs. Herman Kuppinger of Omaha and Mr. and Mrs. Mar ion Tucker. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd McGimsey and children, Claudia and Rob ert, and Mr. McGimsey's par ents, Mr. and Mrs. C. F. McGim rev. all of AlbUQuerque, New Mexico, were guests several days of Mr. and Mrs. Senn Waddell. Kunkel and family at dinner at Steinhart Park Lodge at Nebraska City Saturday eve ning. Mr. and Mrs. Rav G. Nixon and family left Wednesday for Bland. Mo., where thev wili visit relatives for two weeks. Their son, irvin, left last week for Bland and will spend the sum mer with relatives. XtTiav-'ka Dinner Honors Arnold O'Connor Mr. and Mrs. Guy Murdoch entertained Sunday evening honoring Arnold O'Connor, who is home on a 30-day leave from the navy. Guests included Mr. and Mrs. Frank Linder and Boyd Mr. and Mrs. Clifford O'Connor and daughters, Rev. A. B. Small and Lillian, Miss Bessie Mur doch and Mr. Claude O'Connor. Arnold O'Connor left Monday evening for his base at San Di ego. Nehawka Mr. and Mrs. Gene Hicks and Twila. Mr. and Mrs. Rose Red den went to Waterloo, Iowa Sun day to spend the day with Hugh White. Mrs. Bertie Hicks, who visited at the White home the past two weeks, returned home with them. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Morris of Un ion, Mr. and Mrs. B. H. Lang heit of maha, Mrs. Art Elrod of Nebraska City called at the Vic tor Ross home Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Olin Morris and David of Murray, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Morris of Union were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Ross Fri day evening. Mr. and Mrs. Randall Switzer and Nancy. Mrs. Sadie Schrader and Gerald called at the home of Mr. and Mrs. F. J. Knecht at South Bend Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Panko and daughter returned home on Friday evening from their trip to Baltimore. Mrs. Panko's sis ter returned home with them for a visit. Mr. and Wilbur Sutton and son of Omaha spent the week end at the W. H. Gakemei er home. The Mills family attended the Angus Asociation Field Day and Picnic on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Gustin of Hays, Kansas spent the week end at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Gustin. Jerry Gustin stay ed to soend the rest of the sum mer with his grandparents. Chuck Kruse and Dick Reuter returned home on Saturday aft er spending a week at Camp Ce dars, near Fremont, with the Boy Scouts.
