I Officers Named I ! A Youth Fellowship was or-1 gamzed at St. Paul's Evangeli cal and Reformed church Sun-. day evening with 16 members present. Miss Marilyn Lutz was elect ed president of the Fellowship and Miss Jean Meisinger was named vice president. Other officers are Miss Lois Gapen, secretary and Jennifee Short, treasurer. The group decided to hold regular monthly meetings every first Sunday evening of the month and to have a social meeting some other Sunday af ternoon and evening of each month. The young people plan a trip to Lincoln June 21, to spend the afternoon and part of the evening at the beach. A brief devotion was held by Rev. G. E. Seybold and the scrip ture reading was by Miss Mari lyn Lutz. SHORTS WSCS Officers Committees Are i j The Woman s Society of I Christian Service held their first 'meeting of the new church year on Thursday afternoon at the Methodist church. The meeting I was a 1:30 dessert luncheon given by the Gleaners and Na I omi Circles honoring Dorcas Circle, winners of the year's at tendance contest. Mrs. M Muncie was chairman of Dorcas Circle last year. I Beautiful arrangements garden flowers were the decora tive motif with centerpieces of peonies and daisies at each table. A musical program fea tured the luncheon writh piano solos by Nancy Bulin who play ed "The Wood Nymph's Harp'' and Teddy Mann "In The Forest Tall.-' Following the luncheon Mrs. Clem Woster called the busi ness session to order with the Lord's Prayer prayed in unison. Chief item of business was elec tion of Circle officers and in stallation. Named to head Dorcas Circle were Mrs. Forest Carper, chair man; Mrs. H. B. Perry, assist ant: Mrs. Lee Eastridge, vice chairman; Mrs. Fred Bourck, secretary and Mrs. Joseph Zas tera. treasurer. Naomi Circle officers are Mrs. R. B. Pink and white peonies bank ed the altar of Offutt Air Force Base chapel for the li a. m. performed by Rev. Joseph J. Durney. The bride's waitz-length gown was of imported alencon lace and illusion netting over white satin and featured long, tapered sleeves and a scalloped lace pe plum. Her finger-tip veil was held by a cap of imported lace and seed pearls. She carried an arm bouquet of long stemmed yellow roses. Matron of honor for her cou sin was Mr.. Shirley Nickels, who wore a gown of orchid lace and netting: over taffeta. The gown was made with fitted bo dice, bolero jacket and ballerina-ipno-th skirt. She carried a nosegay of yellow carnations and wuit. a. neadDand of matching orchid netting. Best man was A-lc Oscar H. Wolfe of Winona, Minnesota. Flower girl was Becky Powell, daughter of S-Sgt. and Mrs. Wal lace Powell. She wore yellow net over taffeta and carried a basket of yellow daisies. Ring bearer was Dale Nickels, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Nickels. S-Sgt. Joseph Ramchek of Wilkes-Barre, Pa., and A-2c Ro land Haefel of Winona, Minn., ushered. For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Nickels chose rose lace over taffeta with navy accessories. Mrs. Lurkowski wore- navy lace with navy accessories. A brunch was held immediate ly following the ceremony at the NCO Club and the couple left for a short wedding trip. For traveling, the bride chose a blue suit with blue and yellow ac cessories. Serving at the reception were Mrs. Gene Nickels and Mrs. Har old Schwab. Mrs. Dean Patter son and Mrs. Thomas Whalen were in charge of the gifts and Miss Harriett Goos presided at the guest book. Mr. and Mrs. Lurkowski will be at home in Arlington, Va., after June 17. Drake preached his fare well sermon at the Methodist church Sunday morning with a fairly good crowd. The new minister is Rev. George John son, who preached at Palmyra the past two years. Alvo Celebrate Birthdays At Party Friday Mrs. Edith Braun and Mrs: Mabelle Winn celebrated their birthdays with a pinochle party at the home of Mrs. Winn Fri day afternoon with four tables of players.
