Bischol of Nebraska City was a guest for the day Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Alviii McRey nolds. Mrs. Ona Kunkel was a guest Friday of her son and family. Dr. L. N. Kunkel, at Weeping Water and attended P.E.O. in the afternoon, and commence ment in the evening. She re turned home with Mr. and Mrs. George Sheldon and Miss Evelyn Wolph, who also attended tne exercises. Dr. and Mrs. L. N. Kunkel called at the home of Mrs. Ona Kunkel Sunday aft ernoon. Mrs. Ruth Ketelhut and Thel ma Rae of Weeping Water call ed at the Jack Lindsey home Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Merle Meyer and daughters called at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Staack and new son at Avoca Sunday afternoon and were supper euests of Mr. and Mrs. George Meyer. Mrs. Emma Murdoch, Miss Bessie Murdoch were dinner guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Guy Murdoch. Cecil and Dar lpne Murdoch and Carolyn Brannon went to Fullerton Fri day for LeVonda Murdoch, who returned here for the sum mer after teaching home eco nomics the last semester at their school. Mr. and Mrs. F. O. Sand, Lin da and Julie Zch drove to At chison, Kans., Saturday. Pegev Sand, who attended Mt. St. Scholastiea the oast two years, returned home with them. Kruger and sons were dinner guests Friday at the Guv Murdoch home. Mr. and Mrs. Jake Stapert and Sandra of Lincoln were recent supper euests at the Murdoch home. They left Wednesday for San: Francisco, where Mr. Stapert, will be assigned to a hosnital ship and Mrs. Stapert and San dra will move from Lincoln to California to live. Weppine Waff Russel Edwards of Table Rock is visiting his father, Jim Ed wards, at the Julian Johnson farm for several days. Billy Johnson's birthday euests Sunday afternoon were Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Johnson, Jimmv and David Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Fitch and sons, and Charles Cook. Charles Cook remained overnight. Nehawka Alumni Banquet Held Saturday; Officers Elected The alumni banquet was serv ed by the American Legion Aux iliary at the auditorium Satur day evening. The Welcome was bv Neil Pierce, response by Mer ritt Dodson. toastmaster was Larry Pollard. Toasts were giv en by Mrs. Ivan Hansen, "Sow ing the Seed": Elmer Stoll, "Hoeing Your Bow"; Mrs. Ly man Anderson. "Raising Cane"; Superintendent Hansen, "Har vesting the Crop". The 1953 officers were: presi dent, Neil Pierce; vice-president, Norma Lindsey; secretary, Mrs. Julian Johnson; treasurer, Harold Pollard. Farmer in the Dell was the theme for the decorations. Flowers, miniature baskets of candy corn and small pieces of machinery decorated the tables. The new officers are: presi dent, Randall Switzer: vice president. Nehawka Style Revue Marks End Of Year For Future Homemakers The Future Homemakers of America closed the school year with a style revue and tea for their mothers and friends at the auditorium May 12. The first year home economics girls com pleted aprons and blouses, the second year girls made jumpers, skirts and summer dresses. Each piece of clothing was described as she modeled it. The stage was decorated with soring flow ers. Miss Vivienne Ward played piano music for the modeling. Following this the guests were i invitea to a tea. cake, punch and mints were served. During a degree ceremony five girls, Judy Dodson, Ruth Bruns, Janet Cook, Suzy Swit zer and Phyllis Switzer, receiv ed a key to attach to their F. II. A. pins. The farewell breakfast plan ned by the girls for the senior girls was cancelled on account of sickness. Each senior girl received a silver thimble with her reDort card. The chapter presented a pair o pink rhine stone ear rings to Miss Ward for the cooperation and assist ance she has given to them. The teacher, Mrs. Helen Frie dle, who lives in Lincoln, plan ned a summer meeting at Lin coln for the girls and the chap ter mothers. Phyllis Switzer is news reporter. Mrs. Edd Cochell of Denver arrived Tuesday to spend a cou ple weeks with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Pete Schroeder. Mrs. Edna Meyers spent Thursday in Alvo with Mrs. Bill Mevers. who has been quite ill. Mr. John Mick was a Green wood visitor last week. Mr. Mick is staving in Lincoln with his sister.
