Nursery School Ends; Sponsored By Homemakers Homemaking play school for pre-school children closed to day, Thursday. The school is sponsored each spring by the homemaking department at Plattsmouth high school as part of its study and child care. Activities included Iree play periods in the homemaking "nursery" and on the play ground. Circle time was con ducted each day by Miss Schlie fert, homemaking instructor. It included music, games and songs. Homemaking I girls-read and told stories during story time and lunch was served each day. Children helped make and cut out their own cookies. Homemaker II girls, who con ducted the school a year ago. conducted much of the play school the first day with Home maker I class taking over from then on. Legion Auxiliary At Eagle Studies About Costa Rica American Legion Auxiliary at Eagle met on May 4 at the Le gion hall with 12 members pres ent. Colors were presented by Florence Trumble and the group sang "America." - A prayer bv the chaplain, Elsie Althouae, who followed by a silent prayer. Minutes of the last meeting were read by the secretary, Mil dred Trumble, and Treasurer Minnie Bird gave her report. A pamphlet on Costa Rica was read bv the president. Hazel Por ter. It told of the foods, cus toms, games and religion of the people. Many of the foods men tioned are unknown in this re gion. A legislative bulletin cn vet erans hospitals and rehabilita tion was read by Hallie Stewart, and poppy nioiiey was turned in by those present.
