Mo., where she assisted a week in caring for her father, Mr. Joseph Hu ber, who is seriously ill. Nehawka Girl Scouts Work On Tree Badges The Girl Scouts met Thursday at the Green Nest. They work ed on their Tree Badges. Mem bers planted a tree and learned how to care for it and also how to trim branches from a tree and also studied about forest fires. Rosie Stoll treated the members and leaders since she observed her birthday Friday. She baked and decorated the cake herself. Nancy Bucholz was a guest. The Brownies were taught by their leaders how to make ear rims for their mothers for Mo ther's Day. At the next meeting the Scouts and Brownies will have new tables to work on. They were earned by the girls with their cookie sales and the balance was donated by the Junior Woman's Club. Nehawka Mr. and Mrs. Norman Lund berg and family, Omaha, were dinner guests Sunday of Mrs. Ruth Lundberg. In the after noon all called on Mrs. Walter Oi?on. a patient at Lincoln Gen era1, hospital. A number of women from Ne hawka attended the American Legion Auxiliary luncheon and bazaar at Union Tuesday noon. Seniors Spend j Sneak Day At Des Moines, la. The seniors left early Friday morning on their sneak day trip to Des Moines, Icwa. Superin tendent Hansen and Carl Orn dorff drove cars and they were sponsored by Mr. and Mrs. Han sen. They went through the "Lock" and "Quick" magazine headquarters. At the John Deere Co., they were interested in the new com and cotton pickers. They attended movies. The boys had airplane rides Saturday morning and the girls attended the track relay parade and shopped. They left Des Moines at noon and cn the re turn trip stopped at Elk Horn, Iowa, where Mr. Hansen's par ents live. Rev. A. Hansen took them through the Salem old Decnles and invalid homes, of j which he is chaplain. Mrs. Han i sen served lunch to the class and the sponsors. At Des Moin es they stayed at the Kirkwood hotel. Nehawka The W.S.aS. of the Wyoming Methodist church met at the home of Mrs. Kent Balfour Thursday afternoon. Mrs. Her bert Ehlers presided. A report was siven of the bake sale held recently. Mrs. Allen Madsen had charge of the program. Mr. and Mrs. Vance Balfour and daughters were guests for the day Sunday of Mrs. A. W. Bedson and Mrs. F. H. Walker in Lincoln.
