"PRAYER" SAVES YOUTH Seattle, Wash. Larry Schin ke, 17, was one of three Seattle boys, all 17 who were caught in ' tons of snow that rumbled down ; a steep gully as they were climb t ing toward a cabin on an over ! night ski trip. One died Schinke was buried under the snow and j the third fled from the ava I lanche's path and raced for j help. Word was iust received of the death of Mrs. Frank Martin, who has been ill for a long time. Mr. and Mrs. William Buch anan of Tecumseh were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Harrah, Sr.. last Sunday. Mrs. Buchanan and Mrs. Harrah are sisters. A large window was blown out at the Charles Swan home last Saturday during the teriffic wind storm. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Paasch and two daughters were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Land at Plattsmouth. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Harrah. Sr., were supper guests of their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Dreman, at Neb raska City last Monday evening. A TRAGIC SIGHT Pittsburgh, Pa. A 20-months old horse which 15-year old John Haley, Jr. had fed with a bottle after its mother died and to which he had pitched hay every morning before he left for school, broke loose from her home-made stall in the family garage and wandered out into the street. Struck by a bus be fore Johnnie could get to it, the grief stricken bey had to stand by while police shot the animal to put it out of its misery. MIXES HOLIDAYS Hollywood, Cal. Mr. Harding complimented Sher iff Tom Solomon, Chairman of Civil Defense in Cass County, fir his First Aid program, and he congratulated the PTA on its activity and congenial at mosphere, ading that this group is one of the best he has visited. .
