Miss Wetenkamp attended Nebraska State Teachers College at Peru and is now teaching in the ele mentary grades in Plattsmouth. Mr. Vargo is in the United States Air Force and is stationed at Parks Air Force Base in California. Prior to enlisting in the Air Force, he had lived here with his brother-in-law and sis ter Mr. and Mrs. James Mc Millan. No date has been set for the wedding. Guests were the Misses Norma Scott and Barbara Potts. Former Countians Celebrate Golden Anniversary On February 22, "Mr. and Mrs. Lodge Cagill of 50 Elm Ave., Long Beach Calif., were honored at Linder Hall in celebration of their golden wedding anniver sary. More than 175 relatives and Inends were present. The rouble was married in Elmwood in 1903 and resided mere until moving - to Long Beach in 1939. Grandchildren Janet and Bette Schewe sang a duet and at the request of the honorees, their daughter, Eve lyn sang the old time favorite, ' Put On Your Old Gray Bonnet." Assisting at the guest book and with refreshments were Mrs. Jessie Waltz, wife of Oliver Waltz, brother of Mrs. Caygill. Mrs. Virginia Dewelling Mrs. C. M. Christian, Mrs. Erma Hinkle, Mrs. L. T. Fraternal Order of Eagles, met Thursday evening at Eagles Hall with Edna Taylor presiding over the meeting. Because March 5 was the fourth anniversary of the "ocal unit, a special program wras held honoring charter members and past presidents. Past presi dents are the late Mrs. Ella Thun, Dorothy Janacek. Ann Schubeck and Frances Carneal. Hazel LaHoda represented the charter members. Minnie O'Bryan of Kansas City and Clara Riggs of Omaha w7ere guests of the evening. Games were played and a ''dutch lunch"' was served by Tillie Bomberg and Irene Smith. The special attendance prize was won by Clara Jordan. Mr. and Mrs. William Knaup celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at a iamiiy dinner at Callahan Evangel ical church at Murdock on Sat urday evening, February 28, with aver 80 guests present. The dinner, served by the church ladies, was followed by a short program. Rev. C. Jannen of Murdock gave a short address and Miss Minnie Klemme of Murdock and Mrs. Joe Kunz of Elmwood re cited poems. On Sunday afternoon, March 1, Mr. and Mrs. Knaup held open house at their home in Murdock between the hours of 2 and 6 ! p. m. Despite the severe snow storm, about 100 guests called. The house was decorated with yellow roses, chrysanthemums and jonquils. Serving was from a lace covered table centered with h. large wedding cake and gold candles. Mrs. Howard Root of Eagle had charge of the guest book and Mrs. Robert Chestnut of Billings, Okla., Mrs. Elmer Herr of Hum boldt, Mrs. Chas. Englert of Ash land served, assisted by Mrs. Henry Knaup of Weeping Water and Mrs. Reuben Knaup of Rulo. Henry Knaup and Reuben Knaup greeted the guests and Miss Iverna Chestnut of Billings, Okla., and Miss Robert Knaup of Weeping Water, the two eldest granddaughters, had charge of the gifts.
