I MURDOCH Mrs. Florence McDonald Phone 2871 or 2322 Miss Anna Lau returned to her work at Plattsmouth Sat urday after spending a week at home resting after having a seige with the flu. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Hansen and son moved to Ceresco on Saturday, where they will farm this next year. Synday afternoon callers at the home of Mr. an Mrs. J. H. Boyd were Mr. and Mrs. Myron Boyd and son, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Boyd and daughter of Lincoln and Mr. and Mrs. Ken neth Boyd and family of Belle- vue. Mr. and Mrs. Lacey McDonald went to North Loup, Nebr., on Saturday to visit relatives. Mr. McDonald returned home Sun day evening, while Mrs. Mc Donald stayed. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lichen burger and son of Fairbury, moved into the Glenn Harger property on Tuesday. Mr Lichenburger is the new eleva tor man. Tuesday evening the first basketball game and volleyball game will be played in the new gym with Louisville. Mr. Charley Kupke is having quite a seige with pneumonia. He is a little better at this wri- Tnere are quite a number of people, young and old, battling with colds and flu. As well as quite a number of children who are out of school with chicken pox. The Good Luck Club met at the home of Mrs. Lyle Stock Friday afternoon with Mrs. F. A. Stock and Mrs. Robert Stork as co-hostess. The lesson on French Fried Foods was pre sented by Mrs. F. A. Stock and Mrs. Robert Stock. The Febru ary meeting will be at the home of Mrs. Reuben Stock. Sunday dinner guests at the home of Harry Stock were Mr. and Mrs. Willard Stock and children; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Stock and Mr. and Mrs. Lee Gaebel and boys. Mr. and Mrs. August Wendt and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Stock were Sunday evening visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Wiles. Murdock Friendly Neighbors Meet Thursday Thursday. Jan. 22, the Friend ly Neighbor ladies met with Mrs. Edna Rikli. Four members were absent but the 12 present en joyed very much the book re view of "The Silver Chalice" given by Mrs. Horton of Elm wood. A short business meeting of the club at which dues were paid, club books for each mem ber were handed out, and the future meetings of the club were filled in. After the book review a delicious lunch was served by the hostess and the ladies re joicing because the snow had ceased falling, bade adeiu until the net meeting. Murdork Extension Club Selects Lessons The Four Square Etension Club met with Mrs. Chester Elseman, Thursday, Jan. 22. Meeting was called to order by the chairman, Mrs. F. A. Brun- kow. The club creed for the 1953 year book was given in unison by the members present. The new year books were passed out for the members to fill in the dates, hostess and topics for lesson throughout the year. Contributions to the March of Dimes netted a nice sum. The business of the meeting being over, the lesson on Deep Frying was presented and demonstrated by Mrs. Irene Elseman and Mrs. Pearl Wendt. after which samples of the fried foods and . coffee were enjoyed by those present. Two visitors were pres ent. The club adjourned after this worth-while lesson to meet February 26 at the home of Elsa Hornbeck. Murdock I The Adult Sunday School class enjoyed a party in the -church basement on Monday evening with a good attendance. Murdock Shower Honors Mrs. Grace Wark On Tuesday evening a miscel laneous shower was given in honor of Mrs. Grace Backemeyer Wark at the church basement. Those giving the shower were Miss Martha Neben. Mrs. Ber nice Bornemeier. Mrs. Dan Nel nice Bornemeier. Mrs. Dan Neben and Mrs. Otto Reickman. Murdock Th wolf hunt at Murdock last Saturday netted two wolves and two fox. Mrs. Joe Gustin. who had the misfortune to break her arm test week was able to soend Tuesday with Miss viola Everett.
