The Devils have a 4-0 record, while Lincoln Teachers and Se ward lead with 5-0 marks for the season. On the basis of team scoring, The Devils are below the two top teams in points per game, but have held opponents to far less points. Lincoln Teachers is hitting at better than 60-points a game, and Seward at 56 points compared to Plattsmouths 52. However, opponents have scored 36 points per game against the Blue Devils while Lincoln Tea chers has yielded 44 and Seward 43. Woolens Careful Cleaning Two Games Blue Devifs Two games are on tap for Coach Merle Stewarts Platts mouth cagers this week as school resumes and basketball play reopens. The Devils travel to Weeping Witer Wednesday night and will be at home at Pawnee City on Friday night. Following vacation drills, that included warm-up practices against a select team of college students. Offutt Air Forre Base and South High, the Platts mouth cagers settled down to steady drills today for the game with Weeping Water come Wed nesday night. As Coach Stewart noted "anything can happen when Plattsmouth piays Weeping Wa ter." For one thing, the Blue Devils have a four game winning streak on the line, while Weep ing Water has one of the top Class C teams in eastern Ne braska. Coach Stewart will probably stick with the starting quintet that has produced four wins in as many tries. That'll mean Dick Beverage and John Ahrens will draw forward assignments with Jim Jacques holding down the center post. Tom ConLs and Jon Schuetz will man the back court assignments. Probably, seeing action with the varsity five also will be De Wayne Noell, Jerry Wood. Stu art Nielsen. John Blotzer and Byron Finnefrock. Reserves wiil open the Wed nesday night fray at Weeping Water against the Indian sec ond stringers. The varsity game is set for eight o'clock. The Blue Devils will return home Friday night to face Paw nee City, the first home game for Plattsmouth since the op ener more than a month ago, when they stopped Glenwocd. Plattsmouth's other three games were away from home. The Devils are currently lead ing the Ak-Sar-Ben conference race, while Weepingg Water is undefeated in Cass County con ference play. Pin-Loop fo Resume Play Here Tonight Pin loop activity will resume here tonight as the sixteen team league continues play interrupt ed by the holidays. Games are on tap each night Monday through Friday of this week. Tonight's play will find lea gue leading Ernie's Tavern against Woster Shoe Store, while contending V. F. W. will tackle Art & Minnies. Play Tuesday night will find Firestone seeking to improve its standing against second place Alamito, while Marge & Elmers will tackle Eagles Lodge. On Wednesday night Bradley Grocery will meet Conoco and Myers Grocery will tackle Timm's Bar. Play will wind up Thursday night with the American Legion battling Western Auto while Do nats takes on the Plattsmouth Paint Store. Basketball Play To Hit Peak in Week Ahead Eleven cage games are slated this week involving one or more Cass county teams. Four games are on tap Tuesday night, two on Wednesday and five more on Friday. Tuesdays activities will find Ashland at Louisville. Nehawka will travel to Unadilla, Green wood will meet Avoca and Un ion will be at Murdock. The ast two are Cass County Conference clashes. Wednesday night Plattsmouth goes to Weeping Water and Wal ton will be at Elmwood. Both are non-conference clashes. In addition to the Pawnee City-Plattsmouth battle Friday night, Louisville will go to Ne hawka for a conference battle, while Alvo and Greenwood will meet in what should be a fea ture Cass county conference clash. Elmwood will travel to Nebraska City in a non-loop battle and Eagle and Murdock will clash in another feature loop test. PFC. MYERS BAKES AND DEC ORATES 200-POUND CAKE Pfc. Ivan F. Myers departed Sunday morning for Rapid City, South Dakota, for a visit with relatives and friends, after spen ding from Wednesday here at the home of his mother, Mrs. Dorace M. Myers. He will return to Plattsmouth at the end of this week to finish his leave. He will report to Camp Pendleton on January 8. A baker in the Marine Corps at Camp Pendleton, Pfc. Myers recently baked and decorated a cake for the Marine 177th an niversary. A no host party and dance was given at the South Bend hall Friday evening honoring Pvt. and Mrs. Don Deal and Mr. and Mrs. Morgan Meadows and family. Around 60 rela tives attended. Lunch was served during the evening. Pvt. and Mrs. Don Deal were Monday supper guests at the James Carson home Tuesday. Evening guests were Mr. and Mrs. Louie Timm. Lila and Le roy and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Klipp and LaVern. Mr. and Mrs. Otis Bond and family of Avoca were Wednesday afternoon visitors at the Henry Bond heme. Junior and Rose Williams were also afternoon callers. Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Bachman took their little granddaughters, Marsha and Janie Mason to Bennett Sunday where they will visit Mr. and Mrs. Myron May a few days. Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Mumm. Charlotte. South Ashland CHRISTMAS NEWS An early Christmas party was enjoyed at the John and Arthur Laughlin home one evening last week when Mr. and Mrs. George Harris and Pamela and Mrs. Henry Leikam, all of Lincoln, brought a tree for Mrs. Leikam's little grandson, James Laughlin, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Laughlin. Tthe guests also dec orated the tree, it being the honored one's first tree. Mr. and Mrs. Victor Miller, Marvin and Carol Ann were Christmas eve dinner guests at the J. O. Erickson home at Wav erly.
