E. Mason for a miscellaneous shower, honor ing the former Thelma Mason, now Mrs. E. E. Heilig, of Omaha. Charles Goebel and Lawrence Duerr, out on business, were caught at the Clyde Haswell farm near Murdock and stayed there over-night Tuesday, and arrived home Wednesday. Rev. and Mrs. Meyer were caught by the storm and stay ed Tuesday night at the Earl Puis home, walking on to their home Wednesday, after the storm. A number of the students from out of town attending school were put up In the homes in town here until their par ents could get in to get them. Miss Nola Noyes and Jerold Husch were Thanksgiving Day guests of Mr. and Mrs. Grover C. Bramel in Omaha. They came home Friday after the roads were open. Mrs. H. F. Thurman was in Lincoln Tuesday of last week when the storm struck. She spent the night with her daugh ter, Betty, and both came home later. The Michelsen's, of Weeping Water, had" been in Omaha on Tuesday, when they got stuck on the way home. Dallas Wendt came along and twoed them to town. Mr. and Mrs. William Dick man visited at the Fred Lau home in Murdock Sunday. Sunday dinner guests at the Harold Ahl home were Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Meisinger and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Meisinger and family of Ralston. Marvin Baker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Manuel Baker of Reno, Nev., formerly of Louisville, is a freshman at the University of Nebraska at Sparks. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Baker of Louisville. The W. S. C. S. held their bazaar Saturday morning. Dec. 6, in the M. E. church basement beginning at two o'clock. Pie and coffee were served. Vern on is being transferred from Florida Air Base to one in Ida ho, and stopped over here on his way out there. l.ut- Mle Mr. and Mrs. Robert Beck re ceived word from their son Rob ert, that he is new a Pfc. Mrs. Ivan Thomas, who has been in an Omaha hospital, was unable to return home Satur day. She is much better. Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Isaac and Bessie Core were in Omaha last Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. William Rice and Mr. and Mrs. P. M. Rice and Rebecca of Corpus Christie, Tex as, came last Monday to visit their mother, Mrs. Ivan Thomas, who was ill. The left Thursday. Mrs. Joe Han arrived home Sunday from Seattle, where she had spent several weeks in the interest of her health. She has gained some and is much bet ter. Mrs. C. L. Alberding has re turned to her home at Edge wood, Md., after having spent a week visiting with her par ents. Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Harms, at Manlev. Bill Kelly and Francis Scii oeppner were out with a wreck er Tuesda yto get a car out of the ditch near Manley. They had a break-down near Manley and went to the Frank RetJster home to phone. The phone was out and the storm so bad they remained at the Reuster home until Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Carter of near Gretna were in Louisville on business Tuesday. A lovely gift was presen ted to them and the evening was spent playing pinochle. Tu!sville Mr. and Mrs. Louis McEvoy and children from North Platte arrived Thursday to spend the Thanksgiving holiday with Mrs. McEvoy's parents, Mr. and Mrs. iD. W. Webb. Mr. and Mrs. Olin Webb and daughter did not get here until Thursday evening, from Laurence, Kans. Mrs. Jerry Ford, the former Beulah Alfrey, called her par ents on Thanksgiving Day. She reported it was a warm, pleas ant day in New York. It was quite different here. Floyd Hite, who. works for the Omaha Public Power Co., and who used to be in Louisville and has been manager in Weeping Water now for a number ot years, has been transferred to the Ashland territory now, to take the place of Carl Bruce. Lavern Starr has taken Floyd Hite's piace in Weeping Water. Mr. A. K. Frolich was in Lou isville, Monday and because of the storm, he had to go to Ash land by railway hand-car and then to Omaha by bus and from there to Kansas City by train. He usually goes by plane. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Baines, Sr., were caught in Omaha Tues day where they had gone to shop. It took them 3y2 hours to get to Ten Mile Inn on Dodge St. There they stayed all night with a good many others. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wilduck were at the Ralph Wilduck home for Thanksgiving dinner. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Dobbs and family visited at the Ernest Beck home Sunday evening. Mrs. Florence Dobbs is spend ing a few days at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ernest Beck 1 and family. Superintendent end Mrs. Richard Whitmore and children drove to Ycrk to spend Thanks giving with Mrs. Whitmore's parents. Mr. and Mrs. Cecii Beck and Dixie. Mr. and Mrs. Willis Rhoads and family of Kearney, came Thursday night to spend Th anksgiving at the heme of Mrs. Rhoad's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Johnson. Ed Earl returned to Louisville after spending a week at the home of his daughter near Au rora. Mr. Earl is recovering from an attack of pneumonia and is still very weak. Louisville BIRTH Mr. and Mrs. Carl Christian are the parents of a son, who was born Friday, Nov. 21, at an Omaha hospital. I.I'IK-Vlllo Zasteras Visit In California Mr. and Mrs. Joe Zastera, Jr., left Wednesday for a trip to California, where they will spend a couple of weeks visit ing Joe's sister and brother-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. Fred Rutt, Jr., and little daughter at Highland. When they return, Joe will go to work in the drug store. BoV Nichols came Friday to spend a few hours with his fa ther, Frank H. Nichols and his brother and sisters. He returned to Scottsbluff Saturday, taking his father's car, which he had driven, back with him. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Weldrick of Weeping Water and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wildirck spent Sun day at the Ralph Wildnck home. home of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Cupple over the week end. They came to attend the Muenchau- Bengt son wedding. Mrs. Ella Rosenau was a Thursday supper and all-night guest of Mrs. Esther Clark and sons. Income Tax Filing Guide Available From Omaha Office "Your Federal Income Tax, 1952," will be aavilable late in December, but orders are now beinjr taken, Marvin X. Hicks, Omaha district manager of the department of commerce has announced. The booklet is designed to help the American citizen in filing his individual income tax return. In this year's edition, many pro visions of the 1951 tax law, which are just now 50:117 into effect, are fully explained. Avoca Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. John Lingle, Sr., were Mr. and Mrs. Fred Lockman, Otoe, Mr. and Mrs. Maynard Rippe and daughters, Elmwood, and Mr. and Mrs. John Lingle, Jr. Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Hillman, Fremont, were week end guests of her mother, Mrs. Ella Wulf. Mr. and Mrs. James Wolph, Randolph, visited here Thursday Friday and Sunday at Syracuse. Mr. and Mrs. Josh Hallstrom and daughter of Omaha came to O street Thursday morning and walked down the railroad track, so they could be here for Thanksgiving. Several families missed out on the traditional bird as the peo ple that were bringing them cculd not get to. town. Mrs. John Rippe came home from Omaha Thursday, where she has been helping care for a new grandson at the Merle Hennings. Thursday, Mrs. Elmer Hennings went up to also spend several days with her son and grandson. Fred Marquardt attended a grain dealers meet in Lincoln Tuesday. Dwight Baier attend ed a Farm Bureau dinner Tues day and was unable to return home. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Freeman Dies Saturday John Kohler, old time resident passed away at Nebraska City hospital Saturday several hours after reaching the hospital. He had been ill a short time. Due to his advanced age. Roads had to be opened to get him there. Avoca Former Resident Dies at Chappell Ott Brooks, former resident here, passed away at his home at Chapell, Nebr. Ken dall and Mrs. Dinimitt left Friday for Camp Polk, near De Rider, La., after spending a few weeks visiting their parents and other relatives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Doran entertained the following at a Thanksgiving dinner; Mrs. Ma belle Elliott, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Halverson. Prof, and Mrs. Gart ner and Mr. Charles Gaz. Miss LaNita Muller received a letter from Mrs. Rapp saying she is in the hospital in Omaha. The Rapps have had a lot of bad luck the last year. Mr. and Mrs. Rapp were both in the hospital last summer and their son, Lee, was in the hospital with polio. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Capple and Mrs. Will Cupple attended the wedding of Mr. Edward Muen chau at Lincoln Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Doran drove to Lincoln Monday to see the former's grandmother. Their apartment burned and all their belongings. Mr. Doran's grand father is in the hospital. Mr. Edward Muenchau and Miss Sylvia Bingston were mar ried Saturday afternoon at four o'clock at Lincoln. They will live on a farm near Eagle. Mr. and Mrs. Gene Town and children from Bellevue, were Sunday dinner guests of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Stroemer.
