She showed her stamp collection and cave the boys important points in making a collection. She pre sented each Scout with a Boy Scout stamp. The meeting opened with the pledge to the flae:. Angus from Reputation Lincolnite Is Speaker At Nehawka Woman s Club Mrs. Olga Webb of Lincoln was guest sneaker at the first meet- ing of the Nehawka Woman's club at the home of Mrs. J. J Pollard Friday afternoon. Mrs. Webb was introduced by Mrs. Emma Nutzman, program chair- man. bhe spoke of the advan tages she has of being a mem ber of the League of Women Voters. And said she had learn- ed something of importance at each meeting, and mentioned many interesting topics which were discussed which gave the members an opportunity to vote intelligently. She urged all to vote intelligently. Mrs. Webb had a copy of the six amendments to the state constitution to be voted on No vember 4. She read some of them and also read the pros and cons written on them bv the League. She asked the club members to get a copy of these amendments and to study them. She had a list of questions per taining to state laws on voting and they were answered by the club members. Mrs. Martin Ross conducted the business meeting. She ap pointed a committee for the first dance for the teenagers. A contribution was made to the nine day trip to Laramie. Wyo.. where they visited their son. Robert and his wife, and to Estes Park. Colo. Birth Born to Mr. and Mrs. Ermond " Moore of Darlington. Md.. a son. Douglas Erwin. on September 26. Mrs. Ona Kunkel of Nehawka is the great grandmother. And this is her tenth great grandchild. Mrs. Snodgrass has gone to Darlington to care for Dianne Moore and to be with Mrs. Moore and the baby when they return from the hospital. Mrs. Kunkel is staying at the Snod grass home in Union. Three Departments Answer Fire Call Fire destroyed a large cattle barn and a hay stack at the Lena Schlichtemeier farm about 5 miles northeast of Nehawka Saturday afternoon at 5:30. About 3500 bales of alfalfa and clover hay had just been stack ed in the barn and in a stack nearby. Stuart Schlichtemeier turned on the lights and noticed smoke all around the switch where there was evidently a short, in the wiring. Neighbors, the Nehawka. Wreeping Water and Murray fire departments responded and saved other buil dings. TCehawka Mr! and Mrs. Harold Johnson and family of Union. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Johnson and daugh ter and Mr. and Mrs. Henning Johnson were dinner guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Parker of Shenandoah, Iowa. Mrs. Hennine Johnson and Mrs. Parker are sisters. Nehawka Fellowship Has Tour Of Boys Town Thirty six members of the Methodist Youth Fellowship chartered a bus and made a tour of Bovs Town Sunday af ternoon and attended the Ak-Sar-Ben rodeo in the evening. Rev. and Mrs. Fred Gardner and Mrs. Wildon Switzer spon sored the group. The MYF had made plans for this trip some time ago. They are also making plans to serve a pancake sunper as they did last year. The date has not been set but it will be in the early fall. The group will meet at the church to can tomato juice for their supper. Mrs. Wm. Getchius attended the wedding Saturday of Miss Betty Mines of Palmvra and bert Knapn of Mound Citv. Mo., at the Lutheran church west of Dunbar. Mrs. Getchius also attended the reception at the bride's home near Palmyra. 1 pnnV Art Fund.
