The McQuins and Mrs. Finkle were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell Rich and twin daughters. Mr. and Mrs. Dwyer Todd of Bassett, Nebr., and Mr. and Mrs. Gitn Todd of Murray were din ner guests of Mr. and Mrs. L. B. Mougey last Monday. Mrs. Jennie Mills of Brent wood, Md., and mother of Mrs. Donald McQuin, is spending a lew weeks visiting in her daugh ter's heme. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Anderson left Union last Friday for a ten cay vacation. They will visit cousins in Howard. Kan., also relatives at Wray, Colo., Scotts bluff, Brule and Ogallala. Mrs. Viola Strough and son, Duane of Lincoln spent the week end with Mrs. Emma Willis, mother of Mrs. Strough. Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Surface of Hastings. Nebr., called on Mr. and Mrs. S. W. True last Sat urday. They were returning from attending the funeral of Mr. Surface's brother in Wash ington, Iowa. i'nion Fosters Are Hosts At Sunday Dinner The following were dinner pue.sts at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Foster last Sunday: Mr. and Mrs. L. I " n i " m Mr. and Mrs. Ray Becker of Union and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Vailery of Plattsmcuth called on Mrs. Emma Willis last Sun day afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell Rich, Iola Mae and Irene Fae called on Mr. and Mrs. Donald McQuin last Sunday evening. l!iio; Several Attend State Convention The following ladies attended the annual convention of the American Legion Auxiliary which was held at the Corn husker Hotel at Lincoln. Julv 20. 21 and 22: Mrs. Charles At tebery, president of the 12th dis trict, Mrs. Mary Gobelman, secretary-treasurer of the 12th dis trict, Mrs. Kathryn Harrah and Mrs. Betty Harrah. alternate delegates. Mrs. Kenneth Hoback and Mrs. Menya Fae Lindsey. The ladies also loured tne vet erans hospital. Mrs. Attebery and Mrs. Gobelman will attend the national convention in early August. Eetty Neil, who is at Pru this summer attended the senior re ception. She is also taking part in the musical nroeram. She was spending the wetk end with home folks and also attended the bridal shower given last Friday evening for Ardith Er vin. Mrs. Robert Harrah, Sr., has been entertaining a niece from Syracuse. Miss Sharon DeFreece, for several days last week. Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Garner and family of Winnebago, Nebr., have been visiting Mrs. ELsie Frans and mother for the past week. They were callers at the L. B. Mougey home last Sun day afternoon. Union Ardith Ervin Is Shower Honoree A bridal shower was given last Friday evening at the Method ist churrh honoring Ardith Er vin. Fifty guests attended. The gift table was loaded with many useful and beautiful gifts which the bride enjoyed opening. Mrs. Marie Reid, Mrs. Bill Crawford and Ramcna McQuin won prizes in the three guessing games which were planned by Miss Phyllis Grunwald. Delicious re freshments were served late in the evening. The hostesses were Mrs. Dee Stevens. Mrs. Winnie Crawford, Phyllis Grunwald, Mrs. Bill Crawford. Joyce Bur bee, Mrs. Ted McClane, Mrs. Mary Jelenick. Mrs. Mabel Wolfe and Helen McClane.
