Mr. and Mrs. Sam Hardnock vv.-nt to Lincoln Sunday after noon will Mr. and Mrs. Orville Garbling to visit Orville's sister, Mrs. McCoy. A niece and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Baker from Platts mouth called at the Chas. Ed wards home Sunday afternoon on their way home from the hospital at Lincoln where they had been to see their new granddaughter. Mrs. Evelyn Cheever, Lincoln, was an all day Friday guest of her mother, Mrs. Maybelle Winn. ! Afternoon callers were Bert Cheever and Dick Summer. Bert is off work again on account of illness. Frank Taylor is ill with a heart ailment and kidney trou ble. He is under the doctor's care and in bed. We hope he will soon be feeling better. Maynard Brummer on Saturday evening, July 19th. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Rice of Norfolk spent the week end at the home cf Mr. and Mrs. Ferd Brunkow. Mr and Mrs. L. W. Rase and family attended a family picnic in Omaha on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Buck and daughter moved to Lincoln on Saturday where they will make their home. Jim Mills returned home Sat urday evening from a short ; trip to Buffalo, N. Y., where he j visred his son, James and fam ily, bringing back his grandson with him. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Gust in soen the week end of the Fourth at Havs Kan., at the home of their son, James and wife. Mr. and Mrs. George Kruse and family returned home on Friday evening from their trip to Colorado. Mr. and Mrs. L. W. Rase have had as their guests this week, Mr. Rase's sister and family, of Canada. Miss Donna Lee Heiers and Pvt. Maynard Brummer will be married Saturday evening, July 19th at the Trinity Lutheran church. Steel man, acting head of the Office of Defense Mobilization. EDUCATIONAL COSTS In its annual circular on ex penditures per pupil in city school systems, covering the year 1950-51, the Office of Edu cation found a $6 drop in "ac tual education investment in each boy and girl" from the year before.
