Brock Whitlock, general manager of an air-conditioned motion-picture theater, saw two ambu lances drive off with persons suffering from the heat in his neighborhood and decided to do scmehing about it. He went around the neighborhood with tickets, inviting people sitting out on their" porches and in their backyards to come over to the theater. Around 700 accept ' ed the invitation. The theater, 1 which normally closed at 11 p. m. ran on until 3 a. m. for the comfort of the heat-worn spec tators.
