Correspondent Ladies Aid Has Thursday Meeting Ladies Aid met at the church basement on Thursday after noon with a very good attend ance. Hostesses were Mrs. Al vin Bornemeier, Mrs. ' Matt Thimgan, Mrs. .Everett Lindell, Mrs. Harold Wilkens. Mrs. Gus Streich and Mrs. Elsea Horn beck. Murdock Mrs. James Mills, who under went a major operation was able to come home on Wednes day. Murdock SENIORS PRESENT PLAY The senior play, "There Go the Grooms," was very ably pre sented on Friday night to a full house, which was very much en joyed by all present. Murdock Mr. and Mrs. Harry Stock and family were Lincoln shoppers on Saturday. Murdock Arizonans Arrive For Short Visit Mr. and Mrs. Curly Beeson of Arizona arrived Friday after noon to spend the week end with Mrs. Beeson's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Brummer and other relatives. They had to leave for home on Tuesday. Murdock Maynard Brummer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dick Brummer, left for the armed services on Friday. Murdock Mrs. Wendt Feted At Surprise Party A surprise birthday party was piven in honor of Mrs. Herman Wendt on Tuesday evening Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Grant Peters. Mr. and Mrs. August Wendt, Mr. and Mrs. Paul- Kupke, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wendt, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Guehlstorff, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Brunkow and Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Wendt. MurrtocK Mr. and Mrs. Panko and daughter entertained Mr. and Mrs. Grant Peters and Ronnie to dinner on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Pete Lenhard nnd Mr. and Mrs. Herman Kup ke spent Sunday at Ralston, jwebr.. at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Lenhard. Miss Dickerson, the 3rd and 4th grade teacher and 13 moth ers took her 24 pupils to Ne braska City on a field trip. They visited the school for the blind, the canning factory and Arbor Lodge. Murdock Shower Honors Miss Christner On Tuesday evening a miscel laneous shower was given in honor of Miss Patricia Christner at the church basement where she received many useful gifts. The hostesses were Mrs. Gus Gakemeier, Mrs. Elsa Hornbeck. Mrs. Louie Seikjost and Miss Mary Bornemeier. Murdock Mr. and Mrs. L. W. Rase and family were Sunday evening supper guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Buckland of Lincoln. Murdock HOSTS AT REUNION - Mr. and Mrs. Gus Wilkens and family were hosts to a family reunion on Sunday. There were approximately 50 in attendance. Murdock Baccalaureate services were held at the church Sunday eve ning with Rev. Raymond A. Mc Connell delivering the address. Memorial services will be held at the Wabash cemetery on Sunday afternoon, May 25th, at 2:30. Miss Norma Bornemeier spent last Thursday in Lincoln at the home of her father. Chester Elseman went to Storm Lake, Iowa Sunday to get Mrs. Elseman, who has been there for ten days due to illness in the family. Sundav guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Brunkow were Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Brun kow, Mr. and Mrs. Verle Brun kow and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Wills and family of Omaha. Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Borne meier and family were hosts to a family gathering on Sunday Murdock COUPLE UNITED Miss Lillie Klemme and Loren Hanke were united in marriage at an 8 o'clock ceremony at the Callahan church on Monday evening. IMMIGRATION A total of 663,509 aliens were cleared for entry into the United States in the fiscal year ending June 30, 1951, according to the Immigration and Naturalization Service. In the same period, the Service deported 12.253 aliens and processed the voluntary de partures of an additional 673,151 deportable aliens at their own expense. ALL A MATTER OF POSITION When a truck backed into a railway traffic signal at Tilden and broke it off, Agent Charles Morse commented that more people paid attention to the sig nal when it was Iving in the street than they did while it was in working condition.
