They are leaving immediately for New York City where they will make their home. Edward Porter, son of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Porter of thi? city, is at San Diego, California, where he is starting on his boot training in the navy. More than 200 were pres ent to participate in the cere mony. The dining room was beauti fully, decorated with-pink and white cut flowers and candles in the colors of the Star. Charter members who were at the serving table were Mrs. Car rie Cloidt, Mrs. Kittle Roberts and Mrs. Edith Tutt of Murray. Several special musical num bers were enjoyed. Elizabeth painter sang "The Lofd's Pray er," accompanied by JoAnn Cecil. Several piano duets were played by Mrs. Pearl Cole and Edith Wetenkamp and a trio composed of Mrs. Florabelle i Wehrboin. Mis. Doiis Armstrong and Mrs. Marge Meisingcr sang "Sympathy" and "Winter Won derland." They were accompa nied by Mrs. Juanita Brendel. Joyce of Syra cuse announce the engagement of their daughter, Carol, to James Wolph, son of Mrs. Paul Wolph. Miss Joyce is a graduate of the University of Nebraska where she was a member of Phi Lambda Theta and Kappa Phi sororities. Mr. Wolph is a graduate r.f Doane College at Crete and is affiliated with Alpha Omega fraternity. Both are on the fac ulty of Randolph high school. An early June wTedding is planned. Pleasant Ridge 4-H Club Is Reorganized Pleasant Ridge 4-H club met at the home of Barbara, Bill s?.nd Mary Sullivan January 15 to re organize their 4-H club. Officers elected were Barbara Sullivan, president; Roger. Legion Auxiliary At Union Votes S10 To March Of Dimes Union Special The Am erican Legion Auxiliary met at ' the home of Mrs. Bruce Wolfe, January 15, for their annual covered dish dinner and all day meeting. Twenty two members helped in tieing two comforters ! for needy veterans' families and ; in sewing many pounds of car- j pet rags. At the business meeting in the ! afternoon the Auxiliary donated S10.00 to the March of Dimes: and plans are to be made to honor the Four Chaplains of : World War II who gave their lives for their comrades in a ; "Go to Church" movement oh ; February 3. A letter of Thanks was read from the Childrens Memorial Hospital thanking the Auxiliary for the Magazine sub scription to Jack and Jill. The Little Red School House purpose was given by Mrs. Roy Mullis and Legislation by Mrs. Earl Upton. A short lesson was given on National Security by Mrs. Charles Attebery. Weep ing Water and Louisville. Sgt. Norman Baker j Back In States After Korea Duty Mr. and Mrs. Wm. P. Kraegar received word recently that their nephew. Sergeant First -'a numian caKer nas arrived in California from Korea, arid can be expected to arrive in Plattsmouth late this week 6r early next week. Sgt. Baker, a four year vet eran of army service, spent one and one-half years in Korea after more than a year in Ja pan. His ship docked at San Francisco last Friday. After a short visit with his sister, Mrs. Marion Babcock. at Eureka, Calif., and a stop over at Omaha to visit his brother, Howard, he is expected to arrive in Plattsmouth. The Kraegcrs received the in formation in a telegram from Sgt. Baker. A family dinner was held for Mrs. True Harmon Sunday and on Monday, January 15 she ob served her 86th birthday when friends and neighbors dropped in to call. Dr. Charles Stutt left Satur day evening for Boston after spend the holidays with his par ents. Norris and Ralph Raines. The displaced family is Mr. and Mrs. Julius Sender and three children, and Mrs. Sen der's mother. Mrs. Pauline Wol ter, of Lubec. Germany. The family will live on the Clarence Norris farm in the Sunny Hill district at Weeping Water. Two of the three children, Ewald and Erick. entered Weep ing Water grade school Mon day. The third child. Lilla, is of pre-school age. Mrs. Sender's brother-in-law and sister are to arrive soon to make their home in Wabash, where they will work for Mr. and Mrs. Herman Schweppe. The German families were brought here through the Luth eran Resettlement Service. Sunday her piren's, Mr. and Mrs. Robert McDonald, went over and brought her home.
