B. Mougey on Tuesday, December 4th. Mrs. Mougey's assisting hostesses were Mrs. Earl Upton, Mrs. John Christen sen, Mrs. Paul Madsen and Miss Iva Mougey. Twenty-six mem bers were present and the fol lowing district and county offi cers present were Mrs. L. B. Dal ton, district president of Platts mouth: Mrs Rav Norris. district vice-president of Nehawka; Mrs. Wayne Fran.i, district secretary of Auburn, and Mrx Mi.-kle. county sreretary-trensurtr of Alvo. Small tables, all in holiday dec orations, were placed through out the rooms, where the guests, after singing '.Praise God from Whom All Blessings Flow," were seated and served a three course luncheon by Mrs. Mougey and her assisting hostesses. After the tables had been cleared from the rooms, the club Elizabeth Perry, Bride-To-Be Is Shower Honoree Mrs. Roy Knorr, Mrs. P. T. Heineman and Mrs. Bill Knorr were hostesses at a miscellane ous shower at the Heineman home Saturday in honor of Miss Elizabeth Perry, whose wedding will be a post-Christmas event. Decorations throughout the house were carried out in the Christmas motif. A number of social games were played and winners awarded prizes. Santa Claus (Mrs. Faith Friest) appeared for the festive occasion. She appeared at the front porch of the Heineman home, heralding her approach by jingling bells. Santa carried a pack filled with gifts for the honoree. Twenty guests were present and enjoyed the social evening. A delicious lunch was served by the hostesses. Junior Woman s Club Has Christmas Party Monday president, Mrs. Robert Grun wald called the meeting to or der. The flag salute was led by Mrs. Gerald Paasch. Mrs. Her man Comer led the devotionals. Mrs. Carl Cross read the club litany. The roll call was very interesting as each member re sponded to their topic for the year. gave short talks on club work. Dinner bUnday The atternoon onenng win De ; VFW And Auxiliary Slates Christmas The club rooms of the Forty & Eight were beautifully dec orated for the annual Christ mas party of the Plattsmouth Junior Woman's Club Monday night. Preceding the party a short business meeting was presided over by President Phyllis Young. Tentative plans were made for the ' March of Dimes Dance" with Faye Ruback being named chairman. Club members decided to make Christmas a merrier one for the displaced children of Cass county by bringing new and old toys to the Wee Ward robe or Plattsmouth Motors. Here the toys will be painted and made to lcok like new again. Any extra toys needed will be purchased through the club's treasury. The commit tee for the project is Margaret McKee, Phyllis Bourck and Margaret Weaver. The club also collected $3 to send to Children's Memorial hospital "at Omaha. Member; The business meeting was ad journed and the party turned over to Phyllis Bourck, program chairman, who introduced So phie Vinduska and June Vallery to demonstrate gift wrapping and box covering. At least 50 examples were displayed, giving members many attractive ideas for their own use. Wilma Schradt gave a read ing "Why the Chimes Ring." Soft music formed the back ground for the reading. Caro line Grill was in chaage of the music. Live Wire Farm Son Is Honored On 5th Birthday Anniversary Mrs. Sherman Adkins enter tained at a birthday party for her son. Sherman Adkins, Jr., on his 5th birthday anniversary. She was assisted by Mrs. Mar ion Henry. ; The, afternoon was enjoyed by the guests in playing games. Prizes, were won by Gail Leach and Reggie Kellison. Refreshments of cake and ice cream were served. The birth day cake was baked by Mrs. Mae Miller, aunt of the honoree. The guest of honor received many nice gifts. Present were Gail and Judy Leach. The meet ing was conducted by President Verna Meisinger. Several resolutions were read and will, be discussed at a later meeting. The Christmas party will be held in connection with the next meeting. It will consist of a covered dish dinner at 5:30 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Wiles, December 16. Santa will no doubt make his annual appearance. Garden, Club Will Have Smorgasbord The Plattsmouth Garden Club will hold a Smorgasbord at their next meeting at the home of Mrs. Emma Egenberger, Wed nes, December 17 at one o'clock. The dinner is for members only and non-members invited Gar den Clubbers. About 40 are ex pected to attend. Cullom School Plans Program Cullom rural school will pre sente its annual Chistmas pro gram at the school house at eight o'clock Friday night, De cember 14. Myrna Ingram, teacher, said "we are hoping Santa Claus will come."' The eleven pupils at the school will take part in the pro gram which will be followed by a plate lunch. Mrs. James Holy Is Shower Honoree Sunday afternoon a miscel laneous shower was given for Mrs. James Holly, formerly Al vina Zastrow, at the apartment of Miss Viola Miller. Co-hostesses were Mrs. Iola Ofe, Miss Rose Prohaska and Mrs. T. 1 Friest. Games were played with prizes going to Mrs. Nellie Carlson and Miss Amelia Martins. The Christmas motif was carried out in decorations and refreshments. The honoree received many lovely gifts. Celebrates 50 Years Of Sisterhood Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Koubek, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Koubek, Ramon and Joan, attended the 5Cth anniversary of Sister Ve ronica at the Sacred Heart Academy at Lisle, Illinois, a suberb of Chicago. Robert Gaines, son of Mrs. Lucille Horn Gaines, arrived in Plattsmouth early Tuesday morning. He is on 30-day leave from active duty with the Ma rine Corps, and only recently ar rived in the States after a year in the Korean Theater. Home on a 30-day leave, he will report to San Diego for re assignment at the end of the leave period. Prior to return ing home he visited for a short time with an aunt in Los Angeles.
