Weeping "Waier Hobby Shop Opens Saturday The Hobby Club shop opened its doors to the public Saturday, December 1. The shop is located in the rooms formerly occupied by Smiths Barber Shop. Plans have been made for the shop to be open three afternoons a week, Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. Mrs. Cooper Is Shower Honoree Mrs. Floyd Ruby and daugh ter, Charmaine, of Shenandoah, Mrs. E. M. Ruby and grand daughter, Miss Jeanine Cooper entertained honoring Mrs. Clay ton Cooper at a pink and blue shower at the Christian church Sunday afternoon. The ladies enjoyed games and visiting. Th? hostesses served chicken salad sandwich es, cookies and ice cream. The men cf th families joined the ladies for the lunch. About 50 ladies were shower guests. Weeping Water Mr. and Mrs. Crede Harris of Union were evening dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. Maricn Stone. Miss Betty Jacobsen was a guest also. Later that evening the group drove to Nehawka where they helped to celebrate the birthday of James Pollard at the Hall Pollard heme. Weeping Water Rehmeiers Spend Week At Chicago Mr. and Mrs. Fred Rehmeier SDent from Saturday until Thursday in Chicago with other members of the state fair board at a meeting. Mrs. Rehmeier and Mrs. Charles Warner made sightseeing trips together while the men of the party attended their meetings. On Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Rehmeier attended the Temple Methodist church which was adjacent to the hotel at which they were staying. Since It was also the time for the In ternational 4-H club meetings the Rehmeiers and others in the party saw several of the 4-H'ers with whom they were acquaint ed. WpppIiik Wafer Couple Vacations In Colorado Mr. and Mrs. Sterling Wiles are enjoying a Colorado vaca tion trip for a week or ten days. They will visit with Mrs. Wiles' sister's family, Mr. and Mrs. Omar Clark and son. Jack, at Burlington. While the Wiles' are gone Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Richert of Murdock are stay ing at the farm home and car ing for the stock and doing chores. Taylor was honored Sunday at the home of her son and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn I Taylor, on her birthday. Weeping Vate Mrs. Richard Brown Honored At Shower The home of Mrs. Wilfred Meyer was the scene of a pink and blue shower last Friday eve ning. The affair was in honor of Mrs. Richard Brown of To peka, Kansas. Twenty guests ar rived to spend the evening of games and visiting. A decorated bassinette was used to present Mrs. Brcwn with her shower gifts. The hostesses. Mrs. Pat Wade, Miss Arlene Fitzpatrick of Lincoln, and Miss JoAnn Meyer served refreshments. Weeping Water Mr. and Mrs. Rasmus Laurit zen, Sr., drove to Neleigh to spend a few days with their son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ray mond Lauritzen. While there they called another son and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Lau ritzen and family at Corpus Christie, Texas, and Mr. and Mrs. Carol Craig of Omaha. Mrs. Craig is ths senior Lauritzen's daughter. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Lindahl of Sidney arrived here last Wed nesday for a visit with her par ents, Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Baker. Miss Beverly Lindahl was also a visitor. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Heneger entertained Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Heneger, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Heneger and family and Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Eidenmiller and family at Thanksgiving day din ner. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Knaup visited her mother, Mrs. F. J. Fitch of Elmwood last Sunday. Weepine Water Residents Oppose Discontinuing Trains Citizens of Weeping Water are somewhat concerned over the new proposal of the Missouri Pacific Railroad to discontinue service one trip to and from Lincoln. We now enjoy the privileges of two daily trips to Lincoln whereas the new pro posal will limit rail service to the capitol city to one train through to Union at 8:05 and a return trip to Lincoln from Un ion at 6:10. Porter and daughters made a pre-Christ-mas trip to Lincoln Saturday. The girls enjoyed visits to the Toylands of the stores. Mrs. Nettie Amick returned here last Wednesday following a visit in Topeka, Kansas, with her grandson and family, SSgt. nd Mrs. Verne Amick and chil, dren. Mrs. Walter Roberts and Mrs. Louis Noble drove to Lincoln Friday to attend to matters of business. Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Schmidt and family of Cook, Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Neumeister and family were Sunday evening visitors at the home of Mrs. Fred Neumels- ter. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Scho- maker were also guests of her mother, Mrs. Nsumeister. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Wise man visited at the home of his father, Walter Wiseman, Sun day. Coming here from Omaha also to visit her father. Mr. Wiseman, were Mrs. Gene Stark and sons. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Rehrmier and Mr. and Mrs. Charles War ner of Lincoln were Sunday evening guests of Mr. and Mrs. Gus Nelson. Mrs. Warner joined the group here following the dinner hour. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Ranney took their eldest son. John, to Lincoln Sunday vening to re sume his studies for the next week at the state university. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Meeske and family were recent motor ists to Wisner where they met Mr. and Mrs. Donald Sudduth and family of Greeley. The Sud duths returned here and visited here for a day at the Meeske home. A visit to school was made by the Sudduth children, who with their parents, left for their Greel?y, Colo., home Tues day. Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Malstead and boys visited at Fremont with his parents. Mr. and Mrs. Or ville Graham of David City joined them there.
