In addition other prcur, are plan ning to bring the Thanksgiving theme into their regular mid week services. Thanksgiving services will be held Wednesday evening at the Christ Lutheran church on the Plattsmcuth-Louisville road. Services start at eight o'clock. Abo at eight o'clock Wednes day night, the annual Thanks giving service of Plattsmouth will be held at the M?thodist church with Rev. M. L. Schafer of the United Brethren church of Mynard delivering the ser mon. Local protestant churches are united for the service. i The Christian and United j Presbyterian Congregations of i Murray will unite in a Thanks- . giving service weanesaay eve ning, November 21. The meet ing will be held at the Chris tian church. Rev. Val Johnson will prepare the order of service,- and Rev. Rov P. Morris, pastor of the United Presbyterian church, will preach the sermon. Theme of the service will be "Think and Thank.' A special offering will be taken for CROP. First Lutheran church. This vesper service will begin at 7:30 p.m. and will feature hymns by the audience, organ music by Mrs. A. W. Huebner. and a Thanksgiving sermon, "Father. I Thank Thee." by Pastor Gonje Mundingcr. The community is Invited to participate in this special ser virn of Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving services will be held at Immanuel Lutheran church four miles southwest of Louisville Thursday morning at ten o'clock. The school, taught by Deloris Pollard, invites the public to the pre-Thanksgiving program. Gleaners Circle Meets Thursday Members of the Gleaners Cir cle of the Methodist church Woman's Society of Christian Service met Thursday evening at the home of Mrs. William Heinrich. Presiding over the business meeting was Mrs. Lowell Mc Quin, group president. Devo tions were given by Mrs. Foster Scott, and the lesson was given by Mrs. Alfred Ortize. During the evening, members worked on rag rugs for a mis sion school in Mexico. . A lovely lunch was served by the hostesses. Mrs. Heinrich, Mrs. Florence Coleman and Mrs. Agnes Moore. The meeting was called to order by the pres ident, who led the club in sa luting the club's new flag. Two songs were sung and a poem on Thanksgiving was read by Mrs. Jack Vallery. Roll call was answered by 19 members expressing their wishes for Christmas. Ten small guests and two visitors were also pres ent. The secretary's report was read and approved. No treas urer's report was given as the treasurer was absent. Mrs. Har ry Nielsen gave an interesting account of the Cass county con vention of Woman's Clubs held at Plattsmouth. The meeting was turned over to club leaders for the day, Mrs. Nellie Topliff and Mrs. John Hild. who handed out leaflets, What Would You . Do If Sud- denly Left Alone?" In answer to the Question, the leaders pre sented Attorney Madge Garnett of Plattsmouth. who explained several laws which deal with such procedure, and other laws which govern personal actions. The business part of the Four Mile Club Meets Recently Four Mile Club met at the home of Mrs. Ralph Wehrbein with Mrs. Frank Bierl and Mrs. George Stander assistant host esses. The meeting was opened with the singing of two songs, "The United Nations Hymn" and j "Song of Peace. The lesson was ably presented by the project leaders, Mrs. Frank Bierl. and Mrs. Arthur Weiss. The group accepted the invi tation of Mrs. Sterling Ingwer son to hold the club Christmas party at the Ingwerson home. The group will also serve lunch at the farm sale of Mrs. Albert Todd. Twenty members responded to roll call by giving helpful hints and short cuts in the kitchen. The January meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. virgu Stander. Local People Are Guests At Omaha Mr. and Mrs. Vern Hendricks and daughter, Marilyn and Mrs. Edward Donat;. Sr., and Mrs. Helen Faith were dinner guests of Mrs. Fern Hendricks in Oma ha Friday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Meising er are the parents of a daugh ter, born Saturday, November 17, 1951, at St. Catherine's hos pital in Omaha. The infant weighed 8 pounds, 6 ounces at birth. Donald Blotzer, who read the list of hostesses and leaders names for next year's meetings. Butter-Nut labels and key strips were also turned in. Delicious refreshments were served by the hostesses. The next meeting will be held De cmebsr 11 with Mrs. Frank Top liff, hostess, assisted-by Mrs. Verner Hild. The November meeting of Lewiston Social Circle Club was held at the home of Mrs. Arthur Hansen with Margaret Moore as co-hostess. The president, Mrs. Lewis, conducted the business meeting. Mrs. Martin Sporer and Mrs. Glen Thompson gave a demon stration cn the preparation and baking of meringue shells. The remainder of the afternoon was spent in making plans for the Christmas meeting. A social pe- riod followed. Hostesses served a very tasty lunch with decorations carry ing out the Thanksgiving mo tif. The December meeting will be an all-day meeting with a cov ered dish luncheon at the home of Mrs. S. Y. Smith. Five Join Union Good Will Club The Good Will Club of Union met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Pike, Thursday aft ernoon, with a good attend ance. Five new members were wel- corned into the club They are Miss Bertha Crunk. Mrs. Roy Becker. Mrs. John Klimm. Mrs. R. Nelson and Mrs. Herbert Roddy. The next meeting will be held December 20 at the home of Mrs. Leo Roddy. Entertains At Dinner Sunday Mrs. Clara White entertained at dinner Sunday honoring her brothers and their families. Guests were Albert Young, Dallas Young, Mr. and Mrs. Rex Young, brothers of Mrs. White; and Albert Young, Jr., and fam ily, Harold Solem and family of Yankton, South Dakota, and Lyle Lawton and family of Om aha, nephews and nieces. Newlyweds Are Visitors Here Mr. and Mrs. Leland Shan holtz of Falls City were in Platts mouth visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Shanholtz and brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Beryl Shanholtz. Leland was recently married to Thelma Hinmah of Los An des at the Baptist parsonaee in Falls City, where they will make their home. Dinner Honors Youth's Birthday Mr. and Mrs. Glen Vallery and Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Gor ton and family. Mr. and Mrs. John Koop and family were dinner guests at the Harold Peterson home in Omaha Sun day night. The dinner was in observance of Robert Glen's eleventh birthday. Turners Depart For Brewster Home Mr. and Mrs. John Turner left Saturday morning for their home in Brewster after a two week 6tay here. They had been here during the illness and hos pitalization of Mrs. Turner, nee Jessie' Fitch. Thanksgiving Rite Will Unite Couple Feted At Parties In - ' Miss Mary Jean Bullock Mr. and Mrs. Ward Bullock of Madrid, Nebraska, announce the approaching marriage of their daughter, Mary Jean, to William E. Wiltse, son of Dr. and Mrs. E. W. Wiltse of Grand Is land. Mtss Bullock is a teacher in the Plattsmouth high school, and Dr. Wiltse is attending med ical college at the University of Nebraska in Omaha. The wedding will be solemn ized at the Methodist church in Madrid on Thanksgiving Day, November 22. 1951. Miss Bullock was honored re cently at a miscellaneous shower at the home of Mrs. J. Howard Davis. Assisting hostesses were Misses Mary Schreiber and Dor othy Jensen. Miss Milly DeHart of Omaha, also entertained at her home honoring Miss Bullock and Mr. Wiltse. The couple will make their home in Plattsmouth at 1002 Main street. Eagle Auxiliary Plans Christmas Activities Here i Eagles Auxiliary held their monthly meeting Thursday eve ning at the Eagles Hall. Plans were made for the month, and the group voted to have eift night on December 6th. Gift nieht is for orphans. The group also voted to have a bake sale and bazaar Decem ber 15. The Auxiliary's Christ mas party and gift exchange will be held December 20. Ella Thun was appointed Eagle Auxiliary mother. The next meeting will be held De cember 6.
