ii "Mr?. Vinduska Is ; Birthday Honoree A group of friends and neigh bors gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Vinduska Sunday evening to surprise Mrs. Vinduska on her birthday. All came with well filled baskets. The evening was spent play ing cards and dancing. Attending were Mr. and Mrs. Carl Kraeger, Mr. and Mrs. Rob ert Vallery, Mr. and Mrs. Ber nard Meisinger and Beverly, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Meisinger, Lar ry and Kenny, Mr. and Mrs. Neal Snell. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Born and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Vinduska, Carolyn and Marilyn. 4-Hers Take Top Honors In State Fair Exhibits Cass county seems assured of Kneers Enjoy Colorado Trip Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Kneer and daughter. Sharon, and son. Warren, have returned from a week's tour cf Colorado and Kansas, and three day trips to Chicago and Iowa. The Kneer family spent a week in the Estes Park area and Denver, returning to Platts mouth through flood ravaged Kansas. They also spent three days in Chicago and visited at the Jim Sivinski farm at Cher okee, Iowa, for three days. many good cooks and talented farmers, following the judging at the State Fair which began Sunday. The good cooks, according to the judging, are mostly from the Nehawka area, where they have trained under Miss Evelyn Wolph, leader for several county girl's groups. Taking honors at the state fair were: Canned Food Exhibit Cass County Cooks of Nehawka, red. Second Year budget exhibit. 30 jars Cass County Canners of Nehawka, blue; and Cass Coun ty Cooks, red. They returned home Tuesday. routn Ashland Boy Injured In Fall Down Steps Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Deal and Gary and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Buell and Raymond visited a the Irvin Hauschild home near Ceresco Tuesday evening. Ken neth Hauschild has recently suffered a severe broken leg near the hip and is in a cast completely covering that leg and both hips. He will be con fined in it for nine weekrs. The accident occurred when he fell down the basement stens to the barn as he was hurrying down to see his 4-H calf after having just returned from a two week's vacation in Iowa with relatives. The Hauschild family formerly lived where Mr. and Mrs. Fran cis Reinke now live. Mrs. Harry Starnes and sons, Willet and Mickie of Franklin and Mrs. Maybelle Mayer visit ed their sister and daughter, Mrs. Geo. Bornman, Jr.. Mr. Bornman and children Friday. J., came for a two week's visit. Another son, Wilbur Laughlin of Omaha, spent the Labor Day week end with them, and with their son, Arthur and family, living with them, the family circle was complete.
