August 7. 1951. She has been named Jacqueline Ray. Murdock Herbert Lau Is Home From Korea Herbert Lau. son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charley Lau. who has been in the service ten years is home on leave from Korea and visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Lau on Thursday aft ernoon. Murflor Miss Margaret Thiel came home on Thursday evening to spend her day off with her par ents and other relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Arlo Stock and Mr. and Mrs. Verle Stock left Saturday morning for a trip to Denver and other places of in terest. Mr. and Mrs. William Dick man of Louisville and Mr. and Mrs. Merle Dickman and son of Plattsmouth were Sunday aft ernoon visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Lau. Keith Schmidt and Virgil Streich returned home Sunday evening after spending several tiavs at the Burwell rodeo. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Brunkow and Mr. and Mrs. LaRau Gabel returned home Sunday from a trip to Colorado Springs and other places of interest. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Gustin went to Kansas City Thursday, taking their grandson home, who has been visiting them for several weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Gus Wilkens and family went to Omaha Sunday to visit relatives, also taking two nephews to Omaha who have been visiting here the past week. They are from California. Murdock Texans Visit Mrs. Hornbeck House guests of Mrs. Elsa Hornbeck over the week end were Mr. and Mrs. William Horn beck of Dallas. Texas. Mr Hornbeck was the son of Dr. Hugh Hornbeck. SCHOOL STARTS The Murdock schools will open on Monday. September 3. They tlso will have kindergarten this year, so those eligible please re port. Viurdock Bud Amgwert. who underwent surgery last week was able to come home on Saturday. . Mr. and Mrs. Bill James and children of Lincoln were Sunday guests at the home of Miss Nor ma Bornemeier. Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Tool and three daughters of Ohio are vis iting his parents. Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Tool this week Mrs. Wally Reichert and daughter came home from the hospital on Tuesday morning. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hemke left Tuesday afternoon for Tex as to take Mrs. Hemke 's sister and son home. They will be gone about a week. Wayne Wendt. Charles Hem ke and Merle McDonald return ed home Tuesday, evening from their trip to Minnesota. Dorothea Kell Journal Correspondent Mr. and. Mrs. Raymond H. Palmer and sons of Seward call ed on the parents of the former, Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Palmer on Friday of last week. Mr. and Mrs. Hilbert Ander son of Wprly and Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Nelson of Eagle were Sunday guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Myrl Miller and family near Elmwood. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Hursh of Grand Island spent Sunday with the former's parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Hursh. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Board man disposed of their furniture at an auction held at the Wal berg Hall last Saturday evening, j Mrs. Hallie Stewart returned from Imperial on Tuesday of last week where she had visited her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wilson and Marlene. The George Wilcox family moved into the house on the George Rockenbach farm north of Eagle last week-end. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Walker and daughter Jeanette of Nio brara, visited Mr. Walker's sis ter, Mrs. Robert Phillips and family the first of this week. Jerry Trumble of Lincoln spent the week end with rela tives in Eagle. The Ralph Beach family mov ed last week end into the pro perty which they recently pur chased from Mr. and Mrs. Char les Boardman. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Kreck low of Manley visited last Sun day with Mr. and Mrs. George Winkler. Mrs. Orville Muenchau and rtautrhter of Omaha, who had been staying at the W. E. Muen chau home while Mr. Muenchau was away on business, returned home on Wednesday , of last Mr! and Mrs. A. W.
