The weather was most favorable for the enjoyment of the day in the open and under the shade of the trees. All brought baskets that furnished the means of a fine dinner, typical of the Shrader reunions. Election of officers was held and present officers renamed: Mrs. Lula Wolfe, president: Fern Gish, vice-president: Juanita Shrader, secretary-treasurer. Mi's. Grace Beil and Mrs Vel ma Rea were on the program committee that arranged the entertainment. Attendance this year was the smallest for some years due to sickness and that many of the family are in the armed forces. They accompanied friends from Grand Island, who visited at the Masonic Home. J. Thiele. j Kennell s Keturn From Western Trip Mr. and Mrs. Howard Kennell and daughter. Margie, returned last week from a trio to the west. They drove and stopped at Bridgeport for a visit at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Schroeder. the latter a sister of Mr. Kennell. going from there to Denver where they visited Mrs. Lester Welsch. a sister of Mr. Kennell. On the trip they had an experience with one of the sand storms of western Nebraska and eastern Colorado. Marjorie Willis was named chairman. The Auxiliary will also have charge of the coronation for the King Korn Karnival. Mildred Hall was elected chairman, and Julia March and Maxine Bow man, co-chairmen. Names of the committees for the Corona tion will be announced later. The meeting closed with lunch. First Presbyterian Church Is Scene Of Wedding Rites The First Presbyterian church of Plattsmouth was the scene of the candlelight wedding. August 5. 1951. of Miss Vlasta June Ves ely and Donald Warren Bowman. Dr. H. G. McClusky officiated at the double ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Mary Vesely. and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Max Bowman. Baskets of white and pink Gladioli formed the setting at the altar. Mrs. Verna Goos was oreanist and accompanied Mrs. Glenn Terrvberry. who sane. -With This Ring I Thee Wed" and "The Lord's Prayer." The bride was given in mar riage by her brother-in-law. Dale and Doran Bowman, broth ers of the groom, ushered. Miss Mary McCoy had charge of the guest book, and Miss Mary Lou Warner presided at the gift table. For a wedding trip to the Black Hills and Wyoming, the bride wore a powder blue suit with white accessories. They will make their home in Belle- vue. Idaho, I are here for a visit with rela l tives and old friends. i Four Thousand Mile Trip Enjoyed By Bier I Family Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Bierl with their daughter, Mrs. D. W. Harris, Mr. Harris and sons have returned from a very enjoyable 4,000 mile trip to North Carolina where thev visited their daugh ter and sister, Mrs. J. R. Fell ingham, Capt. Fellingham and Linda. Sightseeing trips on the beach of the Atlantic ocean and to Cherry Point, North Carolina were very interesting. The tour ists drove on to Washington D. C. where they had a guide who took them sightseeing. Among the places viewed were the White House, several government buildings, Arlington National Cemetery, the Washington Tomb and Mt. Vernon. On their return trip they saw the Pennsylvania coal mines and the Super Highway, the Turn Pike, which goes on the highest places in the moun tains. The Bierls and Harrises were all quite impressed with the East and the Great Lakes in New York, Pennsylvania and Ohio. They noticed many fruit orch ards and grape vineyards as they traveled. They state that Illinois has a bountiful corn crop this year. During their trip the weather was very comfortable and cool. word from their son, Charles, that he is in Japan. He thinks however he might get back to the states soon. The Grays also have another son, George, in the same part of the world. E. J. Reveillac of Fremont is in Louisville visiting his son, John Reveillac and family. He has just returned from a visit with his son, Francis, at Fort Collins, Colo. Word has been received here that Mrs. Wm. Schoeman of Fort Collins, Colo., is very ill, following an operation. Wm.
