Small and daughter, Lillian, returned home Sunday from San Francisco, Calif., aft er spending two weeks with Mr. Small's mother, Mrs. Lillian Halliday, who is hospitalized with a broken hip. Mrs. Halli day will soon be 90 years old. Paul Murdoch. Lincoln, and a tormer resident ot Nehawka, was seriously injured Friday afternoon while working with a power saw. His leg was cut be low the knee and it was neces sary to place it in a cast. He is at Bryan Memorial hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Vilas Kettlehut called to see him Sunday. . Mr. and Mrs. Clark Bates and son, Valley, were guests for the day Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bates. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Tramisi, Omaha, called at the F. O. Sand home Saturday afternoon. Dor othy Sand, who accompanied them spent the week end with her parents. Mrs. George Kime visited her father, Walter Brittain at the state hospital at Kearney Thursday. Mrs. F. O. Sand was the guest of honor at a dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dan An derson in observance of her birthday Saturday evening. Mrs. Sand was presented with a gift. Mr. and Mrs. Kennelh Ander son completed their summer school at the university Friday. In the evening they were din ner guests at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert An derson. They spent Friday night with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Faris at Union. Early Sat urday they left for Washington, D. C, where Mr. Anderson will work in the agricultural depart ment. He received his masters degree in agricultural econom ics and will be in the marketing department. Mrs. Anderson will attend George Washington Uni versity in the fall. They will live at Mt. Ranier, Md., in the same group of apartments as Dr. and Mrs. Clayton Bruce, the former Imogene Pollard. Those who entertained for Mr. and Mrs. Anderson before they left -were Mr. and Mrs. John Steffens, Lincoln; Dr. and Mrs. L. C. Steffens, Omaha; Mr. and Mrs. Louis Ross and Mr. and tMrs. Albert Anderson. The annual state picnic for the Odd Fellow and Rebekah lodges was held at the Odd Fel lows home at York Sunday noon. 1,000 attended the picnic. There were 30 present from Nehawka. Each lodge ate at a separate table and later they made a tour of the home. Elmer Stoll of Nehawka is a member of the home board. Pfc. Gerald Kime, Dallas, Texas, spent the week end with his wife and infant daughter and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Kime. Mr. and Mrs. Matt McComas, Nebraska - City, called at the George Kime home Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Lois Banks and Joan Kime, Omaha, were home for the day Satur day. Mr. and Mrs. Darrel Mather, Plattsmouth, were week end guests of his Darents. Mrs. Leonard Benson, Austin, Texas, arrived Saturday to spend several days with her sister, Mrs. Martin Ross and family. On Sunday Mrs. Ross and Mrs. Hall Pollard entertained fifty relatives and friends at a picnic dinner at the Tucker picnic grounds in honor of Mrs. Ben son. The Mixit Extension club held its annual picnic for members and their families at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Martin Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Beilman and family, Nebraska City, were supper guests at the F. O. Sand home Thursday. Robert Beil man is home on a 40 day leave from Japan and Korea. Mrs. Martin Ross and Mrs. Leonard Benson called at the homes of Walter Wiseman of Weeping Water, Mrs. Ruth B. Pollard, Miss Nannie Warden and Mr. and Mrs. O. Lundberg. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hunker of Nebraska City were Sunday afternoon and evening guests of Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Kime and son. Wm. Getchius accompanied Harold Kearney and Winnie Crawford to Savannah, Mo., where Mr. Crawford entered thu hospital for treatment Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Knabe attended the Hampshire Type conference at St. Joseph, Mo., Monday and Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pollard and Frank, Jr., of Los Angeles, Calif., are houe guests this week of Mr. and Mrs. Eci Gan semer. They will visit other relatives in the community. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Fries and nephew, David Knowles of Los Angeles, Calif., arrived Sunday to spend several days with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wessel.
