Mrs. Charles Miller and family of Hastings is also visiting here at the parental home. Mr. Miller came this Sunday, his family returning home with him. The Californians left the middle of the week. Miss Marilyn Parson of Lin coln is spending her vacation at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Parson. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Van Every of Ogallala were last week end visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Michelson. Sr. Mrs. Harold Domingo left last week for a visit in Texas which will include a reunion of the Ratliff families. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Morris of Broken Bow and Mr. and Mrs. ! Miss Kathryn Mil ler, frozen food demonstrator, showed the preparation of green beans, cherries and chicken and beef roasts for the freezer chests. She also prepared a meal of frozen foods with frozen pork chop casserole, succotash, rolls, french fried potatoes and baked a cake from frozen bat ter. The cake was served warm with a hot butter sauce. A frost ed fruit punch was also served. W'pfninar "Water Mrs. A. R. Pointer is ill in an Omaha hospital. Cub Scouts with their den mothers and families enjoyed a picnic last Wednesday evening on the east lawn of the school house block. Songs and games were enjoyed following the feast. Mr. and Mrs. Ted Akeson of Lincoln vere last Thursday eve ning supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene C. Day. Later they came to town to enjoy the band concert. Weepins Water Couple Observes 37th Anniversary Mrs. A. H. Malstead came last Thursday from Norfolk to visit here with her son and family. Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Malstead and boys. Sunday A. H. Malstead joined nis wile nere and on Tuesday they will help the par ents celebrate their 37th wed ding anniversary. Weeping Water Jolly Health Club Has Cookie Lesson The Jolly Health Club met at the home of their leader, Mar garet Ranney last week with a lesson on plain drop cookies. Members brought muffins which they had made follow ing the previous week's lesson. Roberta Knaup placed first ac cording to the judging and the remaining exhibits placed sec ond. Miss Ranney demonstrat ed drop cookies, then at the next meeting members of the club will each bring cookies which they have made to be judged. Mrs. Ranney, mother of the leader, gave a talk on safety i around the house and cooking '. unit. In listing the dangers to ' be found Maureen Morris listed the most. Refreshment hostess for the afternoon was Peggy Bender, who brought sandwicnes and with our cookies and fruit juice and pickles, a delicious lunch was enjoyed by all pres ent.
