Mrs. Glen Heneger and Mrs. Fleming drove to Omaha to meet him at the airport. Mrs. Elvira Bussell spent sev eral days last week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Ranney, returning to her home with Mr. and Mrs. Sigvald - Jensen on Monday. Veepins Water Seek To Purchase Portable Bleachers Plans are under way here to start a campaign fund for "Buy A Seat" for the new bleachers for Memorial Field. Under the sponsorship of the Weeping Wa ter Athletic Association new bleachers have been contracted for and it is hoped that they may be installed for this sea son's athletic events. C. Craig and dau ghter, Mrs. Vivian Brown and her daughter, Katrine Ann. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Lauritzen who have been here from Texas for a two weeks vacation, returned to Neliegh with his brother's family for a visit until Monday, returning here for a few days longer visit. Weeping Water Mr. and Mrs. Louis Miller and son, Gurley, and Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Kloch of Alliance, were last weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Norris. The Nor ris, with their guests, attended the 4-H Club reunion in Lincoln on Friday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Little have purchased the home of Miss Addaline Lorenson on east Eldora Avenue. Mrs. Jack Selby and children and Mrs. Betty Paine and dau ghter left for their Colorado homes after a few days visit here with Mr. and Mrs. John Robinson and other relatives. Mrs. Gene Stark and two sons, John and Ted Seifert, of Omaha were visiting here last Sunday with her father, Mr. J. W. Wise man. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Wiles of Ogden, Iowa, were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Klepser and Mrs. Andrew Olsen. Saturday evening Mr. and Mrs. Wiles were dinner guests of Mrs. Robert Wiles. Wayne Cherry of Salisaw, Ok lahoma visited several days last week with his parents, leaving for his work in Oklahoma again Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Merritt Pollard of Seymour, Iowa, were last weekend visitors at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hunt. Mr. and Mrs. George Kopf of Greeley, Colorado, spent the weekend here with her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Holt and other relatives, returning to Colorado cn Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Newham are leaving for California soon. Last Friday a sale of their house hold effects was held. That same evening the Newhams were hon ored at the Odd Fellows and Re bekah lodges at a covered dish supper. Mr. and Mrs. Claire Johnson and family of Herman were last Saturday guests of their cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Sterling Wiles. That same evening they all drove to Lincoln where they visited with Mr. and Mrs. Julius Nielsen and Mildred. They also paid a visit to the Bryan Mem orial hospital to see Robert Wil es. Sterling's brother. John D. Mr. Heebner has been visiting with his parents, Mr.: and Mrs. John Heebner for the! past couule of weeks. Members of the Congrega tional Pilgrim Fellowship held a bake sale last Friday. The pro ceeds of which will go to help defray expenses to the Doane Conference of Pilgrim Fellow ship workers. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Thomp son and two children left here Thursday for their home in Al buquerque, New Mexico, after having come here for the funeral services of his mother, Mrs. Thompson, who died at the hos pital in Texas. Funeral services were held in Auburn. Mrs. Char les Thompson is the eldest dau ghter of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh T. Hanlan. Lt. and Mrs. Robert K. Wright and his mother, Mrs. John E. Schachtili of Sacramento, are here visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Neil Munkres. The Wrights were stationed in Japan and were good friends of the late Jack Munkres, jet pilot who was re ported as missing after taking off on a bombing mission over Korea. Lt. Wright and Lt. Mun kres were graduates the same year from Academy. WeepinR Water Leave Friday On Tennessee Trip Mr. and Mrs. George Reckard left Friday evening by train for' Falls City, where they will join Mr. and Mrs. Weaver Reckard and Mr. and Mrs. Glen Reckard and daughter Evelyn, of Sedalia, Missouri, and make a car trip to Lookout Mountain, Tennessee and a visit with Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Reckard. While there the twin sons of Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Reckard plan to be home for one Sunday. James, one of the twins, was married this spring and it will be the visitors first meeting of his bride as well as Mr. Reckard's first trip to Ten nessee. They expect to be gone until the first of the month. Weeping Water Mr. and Mrs. Simon Wiseman and daughter Phyllis, and Miss Nancy Wiseman, arrived last week for a visit from Monroe, Indiana, as guests of their cou sins. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Wiseman. Sunday they all drove to Boys Town for graduation ex ercises. On Monday they went to Lincoln where they visited at the Nebraska State Capitol and other Lincoln points of interest. Mrs. Marion Jackman of San Pedro, California, who had also been visiting with her sister and family left Sunday for her home. The Indiana guests left Tues day. Mrs. Gerald Jorgenson and daughter of Lincoln were last Friday visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Jorgenson. Mr. Lawrence Colbert of Has tings was ta recent visitor of Mr. and" Mrs. Leonard Doty. That same weekend Miss Winona Doty of Lincoln was home. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Whitfield and baby daughter, Jane, are newcomers here from Sedalia. Missouri. They are occupying the east second story apartment of the Munkres aDartment house. Mr. Whitfield is associ ated with the Missouri Pacific railroad. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Tefft and young daughter, Sally, of Wichita, Kansas arrived here last Sunday for a visit with his mother, Mrs. Carl Tefft and other relatives. They left Friday for their home. Terry Bickford returned last Saturday after a trip to Lincoln and being a representative" of Weeping Water at Boys State. Terry was elected police judge of his city. " Weeping Water Surprise Parties Honor Lady Friday Mr. and Mrs. Herman Rauth's home was a veritable surprise house this past week when on Friday afternoon a group of la dies arrived to help Mrs. Rauth celebrate her birthday, bringing a lunch as well as gifts and cards for the guest of honor. That same evening a group of friends and neighbors with their families arrived to greet the birthday celebrant with congra tulations and also brought the refreshments for the evening. Weeping Water Miss Leah Noble, Lincoln grade school teacher, is spending the summer vacation months here at the home of her parents Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Noble, who have just recently moved here from Cedar Rapids into the ren tal house of Frank Domingo's on east Eldora Avenue. Mrs. Jannette Young is spend ing some time in Guernsey, Wyo ming with Mr. and Mrs. Albert Tuck. She attended the gradua tion exercises of her grandson, Robert Dale Tuck. Richard Keckler, son of Mrs. Aura Mae Keckler and Marvin Friesel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Friesel are spending sev eral weeks in Lincoln at the Naval Air Force Base. They are taking air training and accord ing to Richard, he makes regular trips over the town to make con tacts with the air force men at Browns Airport. Weeping Water Dorothy Ann Kunkel. girls state representative, also arriv ed here following her trip to Lincoln. Dorothy Ann received an appointment to fill the office as Director of the Department of Health. She also took part in a parliamentary law drill, school board meetings and sang in the girls chorus. , Mr. and Mrs. E. A. McElroy of Albuquerque, New Mexico, left last Monday after having visit ed here with Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Jameson and Miss Villa Ja meson over the weekend. The out-of-staters left for a further eastward trip and plan to re turn here before making the homeward trip to New Mexico. . Weeping Water Outstaters Are Guests Of Hobacks Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Schantz and three boys of Chicago, 111., arrived here by car last Satur day for a visit and to attend a family reunion. They are guests of Mrs. Schantz' parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Hoback. Ar riving for the same occasion on Monday were Mrs. Warren Chandler of Alameda, California who joined Mr. and Mrs. Robert Rich and two children of Den ver in making the Nebraska) trip. The three ladies are sis-1 ters, Neva, Eunice and Doris, re spectively.
