Nehawka Recent Bride Is Honored At Shower Mrs. Merritt Pollard and daughter, Ruth, Nehawka, Mrs. Robert Hathaway and Mrs. John Watts of Union were hostesses at a miscellaneous shower Satur day afternoon at the Baptist church parlors at Union, hon oring Miss Nellie Burbee. Green and yellow were used in ap pointments. The table, covered with a white linen tablecloth, was centered with a green crys tal swan containing yellow and green tulips. Two green crystal candle holders contained yellow tapers. Fifty guests attended. The bride received many useful and attractive gifts. Mrs. George Kime went to Omaha Sunday to make ar rangements to have her father, Walter Brittain of Plattsmouth, taken by ambulance to the tu berculosis hospital at Kearney. Miss Ruth Pollard was a guest for lunch of Mrs. Lyman Ander son Wednesday noon. , Nehawka D.A.R. Members Meet In Iowa Fourteen members of the Jon athan-Cass chapter of the D. A. R. and one guest, Mrs. Vance Balfour, spent a very pleasant day Tuesday at Onawa, Iowa. They had dinner at the Country Club with members of the D. A R. of Onawa. In the afternoon they were entertained at the home of Mrs. Deering, sister of Mrs. Ralph Keckler of Weeping Water. Mrs. Deering displayed a fine collection of glassware and gave a talk about her col lection. Miss Esther Tefft, Mrs. Emily Olive of Weeping Water and Mrs. Marion Tucker of Nehaw ka drove cars. Nehawka BIRTH Born to Mr. and Mrs. Dean (Mary Garrison) Nutzman. a son. Dale Allen, at- the Bryan Memorial hospital Sunday morning. Mrs. Emma Nutzman and Mrs. St. John called at the hospital Monday and on Tues day Mr. and Mrs. Ned Nutzman and Dean Nutzman called. Nehawka W.S.C.S. Meeting Held Wednesday The W.S.C.S. met at the home of Mrs. Emma Nutzman Wed nesday with Mrs. C. D. St. John and Mrs. Ned Nutzman assist ing. The devotions were given by Mrs. Ona Kunkel and con sisted of Scripture and readings from the Methodist Woman. Eighteen were present. All of ficers were reelected except the secretary, and treasurer. Mrs. George McFadden is the new secretary and Mrs. Melvin Sturm is her assistant. Mrs. Sheldon Mitchell is the new treasurer. There was a grab bag drawing which netted a neat sum for the treasury.
