Abstracts of Title "Title Insurance" Plattsroouiu, Nebraska 1 Don Taylor Trains As Plumber's Helper Private Donald L. Taylor, son of Marion A. Taylor, of Platts mouth, is undergoing on-the-job training as a plumber's helper, at George Air Force Base Calif., near Victorville. He is assigned to the 1st In stallations Squadron. 1st Fighter-Interceptor Wing. Pvt. Taylor enlisted in the Air Force December 28. 1950 at Omaha, and was transferred to Lackland AFB, Texas for indoc trination. and took his basic training at Sheppard AFB. Tex as, before being transferred to George AFB late in February He attended grade and high school at Plattsmouth. Cpl. Smith Was Lifelong Resident Of Cass County Cpl. Theodore G. Smith, son of Herman Smith of Nehawka and Mrs. J. M. Meade of Weep ing Water, died March 3. 1951 in Korea of wounds received March 1. the department of de fense disclosed this week. The death had previously been re ported by his parents. The 22-year-old Nehawka youth was born August 29. 1923 at Nehawka. He had lived in Nehawka all his life and attend ed Nehawka high school. He enlisted in the Air Force July 1. 1946 and spent 27 months in Tokyo. Japan. At the end of his enlistment he returned to Nehawka but re-enlisted in the Army August 4, 1950. One month later, after training at Fort Ri ley. Kans.. he was sent to Korea. Surviving are his father and mother; sisters. Mrs. Dewey Jones and Mrs. Eugene Ford of Nehawka. Mrs. Wilbur Hennings of Phoenix. Ariz.. Mrs. Mary Fa vors of Lincoln. Mrs. C. J. Sowles of Gary. Ind.. Mrs. Russell Austin of Hammond. Ind.: and brothers. 'Lawrence of Murray. John of McCook. So far, the top levy in Cass county has been .03 of a mill which raises about $1,300 annually. Only about $600 has been spent of the fund, accord ing to Peck. Peck said that the state de partment of veterans' affairs is administered by a director and five committeemen. Only the director receives a salary. A county committee for han dling veterans affairs is head ed by Ray Larson oi natts mouth. Other members of the committee are Edith Lytle of Plattsmouth, Gene Roddy of Un ion, Marion Tucker of Nehawka and Peck. The Rotarv session Tuesday was presided over by President T. I. Friest. John Frady led the group in singing with Hilt Wes cott at the piano. Only three Rotarians missed the meeting. Andy Ruffner Will Train At San Diego Andy Ruffner. son of Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Ruffner. who enlisted in the Marine Corps, departed Monday evening for San Diego. California, where he will take boot training. Easter dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Long were Steve rennauser, Mrs. Marcella Chaney and son Ralph, Mrs. Elaine Garrens and son Joey Dean, all of Nebraska City, Pfc. Rex Gruber, Diana Long. Mr. and Mrs. Simon Gruber, all of Union. George Weidman Is Back In Hospital George Weidman, who was re leased from the hospital last week, was returned to St. Cath erine's hospital at Omaha Thursday morning. He is con fined in an oxygen tent. Attends Funeral Of Old Friend Louis Naeve was in Schleswig, Iowa, Wednesday, where he was In attendance at the funeral of Mrs. Herbert Bendixsen, a chikU hood friend. Mrs. Bendixsen died at Cheyenne Wells, Colo rado, and was brought to the old home for burial. CORRECTION Mrs. Logan Covert instead of Mrs. Leroy Covert is ill at her home in this city.
