Corporal Robert Trotter ar rived home Thursday from Camp Campbell, Ky., to visit his par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Trotter of Nehawka, and his wife of Lincoln. Corporal and Mrs. Trotter spent the week end at the Clifford Trotter home. On Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Trotter and their guests spent the day at the C. A. Trotter home in Omaha. Corporal and Mrs. Trotter left Wednesday for Laramie, Wyo., their former home, to visit friends. He will return to his camp March 12. The Cub Scouts held their blue and gold banauet at the Methodist church dining room Tuesday, February 27. Thirty one members, parents and guests were present. District executive, Orville Nielsen, Platts mouth and Rev. Harry Hart, Weeping Water, were guests. Mrs. Harold Dodson led in the Scout songs and the Cub Scouts added to the program with their stunts and jokes. Kunkel was a guest of the Union Woman's club on Heesch home. Mr. and Mrs. ' Tuesday at the home of her Howard Heesch called to visit Mrs. Edwin Shomaker in Lincoln in the evening. Edwin Shomak er is a patient at Bryan Memo rial hospital since he suffered a recent heart attack. Mrs. Cooper Hunt entertained the ladies bridge group at her home Tuesday evening. Mr. O. Lundberg. who fract ured his hip recently, shows im provement at St. Mary's hospi tal at Nebraska City. Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Edmonds and sons. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Ackley and son were guests at the wedding of Miss Ann Louise Ramer and Mr. Earl Flores at Scribner Sunday evening. A candle light service took place at the First Lutheran church at 7 o'clock. A silver knife, which was a family heirloom, was sent from Denmark especially to cut the wedding cake. Lela Edmonds spent the week end with Doro thy Moore at Macedonia, Iowa and joined her parents at the wedding. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Embury and family were dinner guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Don Pope at Nebraska City. Mrs. E. A. Ford Sr. returned home from St. Mary's hospital, where she was a recent surgery patient. Her daughter. Mrs. Blanche Wiseman, a nurse at St. Catherine's hospital in Om aha, is spending several days this week with her mother. Mr. and Mrs. F. A. Hrvisen daughter. Mrs. Howard Snc- grass. Mrs. Fred Hansen. Mrs. Chris tina Chappell and Mrs. Sheldon Mitchell served as hostesses at the W.S.C.S. at the Methodist church Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. John Hansen presided. Mrs. Ona Kunkel led the devotions. Her subject was "The Cross." Members were urged to attend the conference at the Gr--Methodist church in Lincoln. March 8 and 9. A blind auction was held. Refreshments were served. Mrs. Elmer Stoll and Mrs. Willman Nixon presided at the serving table. The next meeting will be at the home of Mrs. R. C. Pollard with Mrs. Ona Kunkel and Mrs. J. J. Pollard assisting. Jim Sturm arrived home Fri day from Utica. Nebr. to take over the farm duties for his father, Melvin Sturm, who was ill recently from a heart attack. Jim resigned his position as farm veterans instructor. Mrs. Lawrence Gregg and Mrs. Roy Gregg entertained the Mixit extension club at the for mer's home on February 26. Mrs. Art Johnson, president, czlled the meeting to order. The first part of the sewing lesson was presented by Mrs. Art John son and Mrs. John Stone. Fif teen members and three guests. Mrs. Hal Hansen. Mrs. KoDerr, Hackwith and Mrs. Robert Spangler were present. The next meeting will be at the home of Mrs. Art Johnson. Dorothy Sand. Omaha. Mr and Mrs. Art Zech and family.
