' A) caems' mm V7 I 1 Mrs. Henry Maseman Journal Correspondent Mrs. Henry Smith received word of the death of her uncle, James Johnson, at Hammond, Indiana after a day's illness. Rev. and Mrs. Wm. Berger entertained her cousin, Myron Scott of Camp Polk, Louisiana, Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Neumeis ter have moved to the farm re cently vacated by the John Hicks family. Mr. and Mrs .Robert Dankleff were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Dankleff Monday eve ning. Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Meyer and family of Omaha visited his parents. Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Meyer Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. John Lingle, Sr., and Mr. and Mrs. Maynard Rippe and children had dinner Sunday with Mrs. Kafherine Neumeister at Weeping Water. Mrs. John Lingle, Jr., enter tained at a shower honoring Miss Coleen Roetger of Otoe, whose .marriage is to be March 29. Louis Dunkak, Sr., is very ill in an Omaha hospital following a major operation. Mr. and Mrs. John Stubben dick, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kas ten, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Carr attended a birthday dinner at the home of Chriss Stubbendick in Lincoln, whose birthday was that day. The cemetery kensington met with Mrs. Fred Marquardt Fri day. In spite of the bad weather a nice crowd was in attendance. Nominated Tuesday in the caucus for the school board were Mrs. Henry Dankleff, Fred Marquardt, Elmer Hennings, John Marquardt, Henry Smith, Roy Ruhge, and on the town board, Robert McDonald, Fred Marquardt, Elmer Hennings, Roy Ruhge. Mr. and Mrs. John Maseman and Cathy of Lincoln were Sun day afternoon callers at the Henry Maseman home. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Wander and son, Mrs. Rose Wander, of Nebraska City, visited Mrs. Min nie Neumeister Sunday. Mrs. Carl Zaiser, Mrs. J. J. Cullen attended a board meet ing of the diocese parish of Catholic women Tuesday, Febr. 27 at the Cornhusker hotel at Lincoln. Mr. and Mrs. Phil Kirby of Omaha were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hallstrom and Bar bara Sunday. Mrs. Edith Wessel of Omaha visited Sunday at the Ralph Stubbendick home. Mrs. Henry Smith and Roger went to Crete Sunday to see Stanley who is attending Doane College. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Carr en tertained at a family dinner Sunday honoring their son, Leo, who is leaving for the air corps March 10. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Harry Mead and daughters of Fremont, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Carr and Nancy of Nebraska City, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Carr of Lincoln, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Carr of Lincoln. Mr. and Mrs. Harlan Mapel and children of Lincoln, Howard Mapel of Hay Springs, were Sun dav guests of their parents. Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Spen cer and daughters of Nebraska City, Mrs. Louise Snencer of Talmage, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Amsbaugh of Omaha were Sun day dmner guests of Mrs. Emma Rawalt. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Hall strom entertained the Anniver sary club in honor of their 32nd anniversary Tuesday evening. Prizes at cards went to Mrs. El mer Hennings. Mrs. J. J. Cullen, Miss Phillis Straub. Dr. Bren del. Elmer Hennings. C'vde Fletcher snent Sunday in Missouri with his parents. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Straub and sons snent Sunday at Cook with Mrs. Mary Ullspurger. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Dankleff entertained the school board end thpir wives and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Everman Monday evening. Mr. and Mrs. J.. J. Cullen and Petronella spent Sunday with Cathleen Conner of Council Bluffs. Mr. and Mrs. William Dett mer entertained her cousin, Ernest Irons of VanweH. Ohio. Sunday thev called at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henrv Woh- lers. Mr. and Mrs. Hv D. Kirk hoff, Saturdav evening at the Jonn KirKhon home and Mon day with Mr. and Mrs. John RiDpe. Sunday evenine guests at Mr and Mrs. John Mohrs were Mr and Mrs. Elmer Hennings and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Maseman. Word has been received from Mrs. Jule Neumeister of San Jose, Calif., that she had met with an accident. While sit ting in a car, the car started backward. She jumped out. at tempting to get in the front seat to stop it when the car door hit her, knocking her down and the car ran over her leg. The X-ray showed no bones broken but painfully bruised. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Mever and family visited his mother in Otoe Sunday.
