WHEN THE MULTITUDE had found Jesus in a sequestered spot on the northeastern shore of Galilee, he was moved with com passion on the people "because they were as sheep not having a shepherd, " and he taught them "many things." Toward evening the disciples wanted to "r.iss the buck," to shift the responsibility. They came to Jesus and said. "Send them away, that they may go into the country End villages round about, and buy themselves something to eat." When Jesus bade the disciples to give the people to eat. they told him they had but five loaves and i.-n fbos .Tfsus called for this small provision and he blessed and J muKi'oiied the loaves and fishes until five thousand men were fed. j At '--.- n multitude in need 1 today, let us not ri:s:re. as the disciples cid. to "call it a day" as long as there is one u-e can aid; let cs not try to pass the responsi bility, but Ic-t us consecrate what Wc .have to Jesus, trusting him to multiply our gifts and make them to accomplish great pood. To do th.s. me must first give our very selves unto God. Ar.d we car. bo tsrurcd that the employment of what we give in our Lord's hands v.-.:. bring the best and finest serv ice the world can know.
