Guests included Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Giles, Plattsmouth, and Mr. and Mrs. George Sheldon. Mr. and Mrs. Arlo Stock will spend the Christmas holidays with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Archie Smith at Cozad. Miss Isadore Hall, Snoqualmie, Wash., and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Balfour were recent callers at the Andrew Sturm home. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Cover dale and Delbert, Omaha; Mr. and Mrs. John Rishel and Billy were Sunday afternoon and supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Schlichtemeier. Mrs. Eva Schreiner, Nebraska City, was a guest Sunday and Monday of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Schreiner. Mrs. Gene Banks entertained at a birthday party for her son, Larry, at the home of Mrs. George Kime. Larry's guests were his classmates and teach er. Miss Amy Mead. Larry was ten years old. There was a birthday cake and refresh ments. Joan Kime shared the honors with Larry since she had a birthday also, and received gifts. Mrs. Dan Anderson and Clin ton, Mr. and Mrs Xyman Ander son and Sonja were dinner guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Englekemeier at Murray. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Wiles, Grand Junction, Iowa, left Thursday for Clarinda, Iowa, to visit her mother, Mrs. Conant Wolph and daughters, after spending several days with Mrs. Wiles' aunt. Miss Evelyn Wolph. Mr. and Mrs. E. I. Troeger, Fayetteville, Ark.; Mrs. M. E. Whipple, Nebraska City, were dinner guests Sunday evening of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Whipple. Mr. and Mrs. Troeger stopped here on their way to Ames, Iowa, to see their son graduate. They will go to Texas to spend the holidays. Mrs: Carl Dierking. Otoe, and Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm Pollard and family called at the John Tyson home Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. F. O. Sand and Peggy were guests at the birth day dinner Sunday honoring Mrs. Mathilda Bischof, who was 89 Tuesday, December 19. The dinner was given by Mr. and Mrs. George Bischof at their home in Nebraska City. Five of Mrs. Bischofs children were present, including Leo Bischof and sons, Lincoln; Mrs. F. O. Sand, Nehawka; Minnie Bischof. Harry Bischof and family and George Bischof and family, all of Nebraska City. A group of relatives and friends from Nehawka took re freshments and surprised Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Ross of Ne braska City on their wedding anniversary Saturday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Vogler and daughter and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Bridenstine called at 'the George Vogler, Jr., home at South Bend Sunday afternoon. Miss Bessie Murdoch return ed Friday from Stamford, Nebr., where she spent the past two months at the home of Rev. and Mrs. Tom Moore and family. Rev. Moore was formerly the pastor of the United Brethren church at Nehawka. Byron Warlick, Stanton, Nebr., and Donna uicKie, university student of Lincoln were week end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ira Warlick. On Saturday Mrs Warlick. Amy, Byron and Miss Dickie shopped m omana. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Younker and family were dinner guests Sunday of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Hoschar. Mr. and. Mrs. Elmer Wessel and Mr. and Mrs. Levi Wilson attended the silver wedding an niversary of Mr. and Mrs. Hans Jensen of Avoca. The celebra tion was held Sunday evening at the auditorium at Weeping Water. The Four Corners club held a Christmas party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Splitt. Mem bers and their families were guests. There were four tables of pinochle. Prizes went to George Meyer and Mrs. Wilmer Harshman, who held high, and to John Baier, Jr., and Mrs. An na Harshman for low score. Corporal Robert Kime left Sunday for Camp Breckenridge, Ky.. after a two week's fur lough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Kime. Mrs. Gertrude Carper's dinner guests Sunday included Mr. and Mrs. Lucian Carper and John, Murray; Mr. and Mrs. O. Lund berg and Ralph Betts. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Rice and children, Murray, called at the Frank Dill home Sunday after noon. Mr. and Mrs. John Dale and family, Omaha, were dinner guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. John Eaton. Mr. and Mrs. John Bagley left for Lead Hill, Ark., to spend the holidays with Mr. Bagley s sisters and their families. The Maple Grove school held a Christmas program and invited the public Friday evening. Re freshments were served. On Monday afternoon the school had a Christmas party for the parents and children with an exchange of gifts. Miss Mary Todd, Union, is the teacher. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Jorgenson were dinner guests Sunday of her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Martin, at Union. Mr. and Mrs. George Martin were dinner guests also. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Beck Passed Away Tuesday Eve (Continued from Page 1) tember 18, 1898. she was united in marriage with Henry Beck in Cincinatti, Illinois, where they resided for a number of years. To this union one son was born in 1910. The son died shortly after birth. In the early part of 1900. she with her husband moved to a farm near Plattsmouttt, Nebra ska, where she resided for a number of years until moving into the city on October 3. 1924. Ill and lacking a companion to assist in her later years, she entered Hillcrest Home. She is survived by a brother John Ehrhardt. of Randolph. Nebr.. three sisters and one brother in Germany. Her broth er, Peter, preceded her in death and is buried at Pierce. Nebr. Funeral services will be con ducted from St. Paul's Evangeli cal and Reformed church. Plattsmouth. on Fridav. December 22. 1950. at 1:00 o'clock conducted bv Rev. A. Matzner. Sattler Funeral Home is in charge of services. There was an exchange of gifts and the evening was spent at cards. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Knabe visited his parents in Lincoln Friday. Monday they were busi ness visitors in Omaha. Youth Exchange Student to be Named LINCOLN Another Interna tional Farm Youth Exchange delegate is to be selected from Nebraska by Jan. 20 for 1951. State 4-H Club Leader E. V. Janike of the University said a tentative goal of 50 delegates has been set and plans are to place them in 23 countries. Nebraska youths who have visited European countries un der the IFYE project include Miss Helen Ochsner of Madi son (now Mrs. Maurice Stillings of Monte Vista, Colo.); Duane Sellin of Norfolk and Jo Ann Skucius of Chester. Mr. Janike said those wish ing to apply for selection should have these qualifications: A high school diploma, 18 to 25 years old, good health, single, be willing to remain out of school for the fall semester of 1951, have a sincere and friend ly attitude and have a farm background. Delegates will be treated as members of the farm family they visit in Europe. The IFYE is an educational and good will project. Those interested in applying Mr. Janike said, should contact their county extension office. DEATH STRIKES TWICE WOODWARD, Okla. (UP) Death prevented fulfillment of the dying wish of 72-year-old V. E.
