Harry Murphy, Omaha, presi dent of the Nebraska Tubercu losis Association, which spon sors the campaign, this week had a special word of gratitude for the multitude of volunteers who helped with the campaign. The Seal Sale campaign, which is seeking to raise $185, 000 for tuberculosis prevention and education work of the as sociation for 1951, opened on November 20. -But the majority of volunteers had been working for weeks before, checking lists, folding seals and addressing envelopes, Doctor Murphy point ed out. During the campaign, they have worked tirelessly checking returns, and promoting the sale of Seals individually and collectively, he added. Doctor Murphy- stated that throughout the state "Seal Re minders'' are now going forth to those who might have mislaid their Christmas Seal letters amid the pile of Christmas mail. "We hope that these little remind ers will help us swell our total quickly" added Doctor Murphy, "so that we may be able to plan our work for 1951. There is still a great deal to be done if we want to make our state safe from the scourge of tuberculosis. This disease still is the cause of more deaths among our young neonle between the ages of 15 and 35 than any other disease Funds from Seal Sale are the onlv ones available to the Ne braska Tuberculosis Association, with 94 per cent of the returns being retained here in the state for the educational and case finding work ol the Association Cass County 4-H Sheep Club The meeting was held at the home of Tommy Carneal. CASS DRUG al green Agency Nebraska Safety Patrol Warning Holiday Drivers Officially, the winter season begins next week. "Signs of its coming have been with us for some weeks, however," declares Captain C. J. Sanders of the Ne braska Safety Patrol. "Already, a good many motor ists and pedestrians' have found out through costly accidents how carelessness works with double swiftness on snow-packed or ice covered streets and roads," he said today. "Many of those ac cidents were caused by persons driving at the same rate pf speed as they do in June on dry pavements and in broad day light. You just can't drive that way under winter conditions without taking terrible chances," Captain Sanders warned. "Taking a little more time for any trip will help assure safe arrivals. Keeping eyes on the road, watchful for pedes trians and alert to the actions of 'fellow drivers, will aid in avoiding accidents. Adjusting speed to hanging road condi tions, maintaining a safe dis tance between vehicles and us ing tire chains when needed are important factors. All equip ment Draices, ngnts, tires, tire chains, windshield wiper blades, defroster, battery, and exhaust system should be in A-l condi tion as a safeguard against de lays or accidents." Exam Dates For Drivers License Set Motor vehicle operator's li cense examination dates for the year 1951 have been released by the State Highway Patrol.
