Monday evening employes of jthe Lugsch Cleaners in this city jand the Pantorium at Omaha i enjoyed a very delightful Hallo Iwee'n party staged at the Forty j & Eight club in this city, i it was arranged as a fancy dress party, many ol the mem bers coming in costumes suited to the occasion. Throughouc the evening the spirit of fun and good fellowship prevailed, among the party of some forty-six with Mr. Fred Lugsch, head of the organiza tion, serving as the host for the group. Ladies had arranged for the very delicious lunch that was served at 9 o'clock in the lounge of the club rooms. Many of the members enjoyed dancing during the evening to add to the pleasantness of the occasion and it was with regret that they witnessed the coming of the homegoing hour. Johnson-Crandell Wedding At Omaha ! Saturday, Oct. 28th, at the ! First Presbyterian church in ; Omaha. Vera E. Johnson, daugh i ter of Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Johnson i of this city, and Russell J. Cran 1 dell, also of this city, were united m marriage. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Thomas R. Niven, pastor of the church, in a ten o'clock service, with Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Tunnell of Plattsmouth as attendants. The bride chose for her wed ding a pantomine wool suit with which she wore a rhinestone clip and black accessories. Mrs. Tunnell's suit was navy with black accessories. The men were attired in grey business suits. Mr. and Mrs. Crandell are both identified with the business life of the city, Mrs. Crandell be ing employed at the Bates Book Store and Mr. Crandell with the Plattsmouth Sheet Metal Works. The couple will make their home in this city. Rawson Family Return Home Mr. and Mrs. Allen Rawson and children. Joy Lee and Richard Allen, left Monday morning to return to their home in Farwell, Michigan, after a two weeks visit here with Mrs. Rawson's family. While here they were honored at several events at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Hoschar, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Bickett, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kaffenberger, and Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Sand. Sunday School at 9:45. "Adam and Fallen Man" is the subject of the Lesson-Sermon which will be read in Christian Science churches throughout the world on Sunday, November 5, 1950. The Golden Text is: "O Israel, return unto the Lord thy God; for thou hast fallen by thine iniquity." (Hosea 14:1). Other Bible citations include, "There is therefore now no condemna tion to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit that we are the chil dren of God:" (Romans 8:1,16). The Lesson-Sermon also in cludes the following passage from the Christian Science text book, "Science and Health with Key to Scriptures" bv Mary Ba ker Eddy, "In divine Science, God and the real man are inseparable as divine Principle and idea. When speaking of God's chil dren, not the children of men. Jesus said, 'The kingdom of God is within you;' that is, Truth and Lave reien in th real mnn showing that man in God's image' ! Nutzman Family Reunion Held At Bertrand Avoca Special to Journal The Nutzman family reunion was held at Bertrand at the com munity hall on Sunday, October 29th. This was the fifth annual reunion with 170 present, fif teen of the party having attend ed all of the reunions. After the guests partook of a fine dinner they were called to gether by ' Mrs. John Ehlers, chairman of the committee. The reunion party was privi leged to hear a record made to honor one of the members, Mrs. Herbert Van Burg, - the former Lydia Nutzman. This record was! broadcast from station KODZ of North Platte, saluting a good neighbor. Mrs. DeBurg is a resi dent of Wallace, Nebraska. A musical program was pre sented by Mrs. Verle Dennehl, a song, "Alice Blue Gown" and "The More We Get Together". Mrs. Louis Gengenbach was ac companist. Ernest and Norma Emshoff gave a saxaphone duet, "Blue Skirt Waltz", Mrs. Van Burg be ing the accompanist. Louis Donnehl gave an accor dian solo, "Red WTing", Mrs. Don nehl being accompanist. The program closed with the singing of "God Be With You Un til We Meet Again". A business meeting followed at which it was voted to have the reunion at Bertrand next year, the date to be set later. The officers were re-elected for another year and Mrs. Robert High, Sr., was elected as secre tary. Mrs. Emma Nutzman Roughe was presented a box of candy for being the oldest member of the group. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Koes ter of Idaho Falls. Idaho were ! members coming the greatest distance. There were nine births and two marriages reported since the last meeting. Guests came from Idaho Falls, Idaho; Loveland. Amhearst, Holyoke, Colorado; Palmyra, Unadilla. Otoe. Avoca, Lexing ton, Smithfield, Elwood, Wal lace. Grand Island, Curtis, Hast ings, Holdrege, Omaha, Stratton. Those attending from this part of the state were: Mr. and Mrs. Myron Schroeder, Palmyra; Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Nutzman and daughter, Bertha. Henry Horst man, Unadilla; Mr. and Mrs. I Henry Ross, Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Ost, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Balfour, Gerald Mather, Nehawka; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Paap, Verle Nutz man, Otoe; Ted Nutzman. L. Greene And Wife Visit Here Mr. and Mrs. Chas. L. Greene, former residents of Union and Plattsmouth, were here Monday evening for a few hours. They were calling on Mr. and Mrs. P. F. Rihn. the former a business associate of Mr. Greene for a number of years at Union. Mr. and Mrs. Greene are now residing at Fremont where they moved from their former loca tion at Genoa, Nebraska. Mr. Greene was engaged in business at Genoa after leaving Platts mouth. They are both members of the graduating class of 1948 of Plattsmouth high school. Miss Cockerill at present is employed at the First National Bank of Lincoln. Mr. Meisinger is also employed in Lincoln at the Continental National Bank. A spring wedding is planned. Mrs. Ralph Parkening Who prior to her marriage was Miss Ruth Erickson. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George V. Erickson of Louisville. The wedding of Miss Erickson to Mr. Ralph Par kening. son of Mr. and Mrs. John H. Parkening, took place Sunday, October 22 at the First Methodist church at; Louisville. In honor of the event, a recep tion was tendered them at the home of their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Henry, 4367 Wilson avenue, San Diego. A large number of the : Plattsmouth and Cass county colony residing in the Los An j geles area were in attendance. Mr. rranK Munen ana miss Katherine Krug were married at St. Joseph, Kansas, October '30, 1900. They spent the greater part of their early years in southeastern Nebraska. Mr. Mul len first started cutting meat at Shubert, Nebraska in 1908. Later he moved to Plattsmouth in 1923. being engaged in business here until moving to California. He is still engaged in the meat mar ket business in one of the large markets on the west coast. Mrs. Mullen was engaged during the war years in one of the large re tail stores, retiring the past year. Both Mr. and Mrs. Mullen are in excellent health. They were parents cf three children. Emmett now at Deni son, Iowa, Mrs. Nellie Henry, San Diego, Edward, who lived in Los Angeles and passed away seven years ago. They have six grand children. Old friends here will join in their well wishes to this estim able couple for many more years of happiness.
