The Keller children of Lincoln spent the week end with their grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Joe Kyles. John Mick spent from Mon day until Saturday with relatives at Falls City. Cleveland of Omaha spent the week end at the Emil Meisinger home. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Meyers spent Saturday evening at the John Meyers home. Mrs. Lyle Reighard left Wed nesday for Augusta, Georgia where she will join her husband Lyle Reighard who is stationed there. Mrs. George Rouse entertain ed at her home Monday after noon at a Better Brush party. Mr. and Mrs. Emil Meisinger and Alice Cameron spent Wed nesday evening at the Joe Lees ley home in Waverly. Mrs. Woodrow Fulmer enter tained the Jolly Joker club at her home Friday afternoon. Mrs. Bernice Landon was a guest. John Meyers came home from the hospital Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Emil Meisinger and Alice Cameron called at the Chester Todd home Thursday af ternoon Mr. and Mrs. Maynard Griffith and children spent Sunday eve ning at the John Meyers home. Wallick Journal Correspondent Mrs. Theodore Davis returned here Saturday morning after a five week visit with Mr. and Mrs. George McDonald, of Doug las, Wyoming. Mrs. D. O. Dwyer drove to Lincoln to meet her and bring her home. Mr. and Mrs. William Jameson drove to Nehawka last Wednes day to spend the night with their grandchildren while their par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Jame son went on a cattle buying trip to the western part oi tne siaxe. Mr. and Mrs. Jameson were to return here sometime Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Farmer of Topeka, Kansas were here over the wepk pnd with Mr. and Mrs. Owen Welch. An aunt of Mrs. Welch's accompanied the Farm ers. On their return they took Mrs. E. M. Talbot, mother of Mrs. Welch and Mrs. Farmer, home with them. Mrs. Talbot has been visiting here for quite some time with her dauehter and family. who are soon to leave for their new home in Red Lodge, Mont. George Smith has purchased the barber shop, formerly owned by Arthur Jones later sold to George Madison, who for some time, closed the shop. Mr. and Mrs. Smith plan to occupy the rooms above the shop as a resi dence. Further plans were not available at this time. Mrs. E. A. McElroy, sister of Miss Villa Jameson drove from Albuquerque, New Mexiso, arriv ing here last Tuesday afternoon for a visit of several days. Mrs. J. R. Shannon and Miss Mable Dudley were "First night ers" in their new home location last Tuesday. Visiting at their home for a brief time last week I found them still busy at the long and drawn out process of digging out the dried mud left by last spring's flood waters. Plasterers and workmen for wa ter installation completed their work. Furnace men were next to come on the job, with more car pentering to be done on the in terior and exterior of the house. Members of the Danish Broth erhood with their wives assem bled at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Johnson for a post poned celebration in honor of the Johnson's wedding anniver sary which occurred two weeks ago. They arrived with baskets of sandwiches and cakes and cookies, as well as their very best wishes to the honored cou ple, and coffee was quickly sup plied and enjoyed during the af ternoon social hours. Mrs. F. J. Fitch, Miss Ahlene Fitch and Mrs. Fred Engelking of Elmwood were Sunday guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Knaup. He had driven home and upon getting out of the truck just happened to turn around and it was on fire. He quickly got a pail of water, and threw it on the blaze, which fortunately was extinguished by just one effort. Mrs. Thorns has nothing but praise for the "Fire Boys" in the efficient and speedy way they arrived on the spot. Mr. and Mrs. Irwin Ehlers and two children of Lincoln were here over Sunday visiting with her Darents Mr and Mrs Ano-one Johnson. Jerome St. John, who has been hospitalized for some time Maxwell attended a funeral while there and Mrs. Grady and Vernon visited with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Raasch and Wayne called at the John Meyers home Tuesdav evening. Marie Sheehe of Lincoln was a Saturday afternoon and dinner-guest at the Emil Meisinger home. Mr. and Mrs. Claude Osbum and- Rodger spent the week end with Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Grady and Glenda in Omaha. Christian Youth Fellowship met at the Christian church on Sunday evening. This Fellowship is just being organized and we hope to have the young people of the community come. Rev. Tur ner, minister of the Greenwood Christian church is in charge and we are sure it will be worth your time to attend. Meetings start at 6 P. M., on Sunday evenings. in the Bryan Memorial hospital, was able to return by ambulance to his farm home on O street on Sunday afternoon. Mr. Frank Cook drove the Hobson Ambu lance to Lincoln to bring him home. Miss Leah Noble of Lincoln was here over Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Domingo and family and other relatives. Mrs. C. H. Wilkinson is to be hostess this Thursday to the Bideawee club. At the ewenty-sixth annual convention of Woman's clubs held at Mynard last Friday, Oc tober 20th. Miss Pearl Schults, Mrs. Frances Thoren, Mrs. Ken neth Deermann and Mrs. Ray Norris were all day convention ists. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Elliott, Maribelle, Dickie and Mrs. Frank Cook went in the afternoon. Maribelle gave a reading. "Scratch the Newsboy". Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Roberts of Lincoln visited at the home of his parents Mr. and Mrs. Wal ter Roberts over the week end. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Gibson are new enjoyers of a television set. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Cook have brought a house in from their! f r.rm and located it on one of the lots east of their home. They plan to build on a glassed-in poich and have made basement room under the entire house. Mr. and Mrs. Miller Christen sen and Mr. and Mrs. William Finley and daughter. Beverly were Sunday dinner guests of Mr and Mrs. Leo Christensen. It was a belated birthday dinner in honor of Leo. Opportunity club met last Tuesday with Mrs. William Fin ley hostess, Mrs. Sterling Amick assisting. Sixteen members were present. A lesson on "Kitchen Utensils" was given by Mrs. Ray Norris and Mrs. Lawrence Wise man. Mrs. R. H. Gray was given a gift as a remembrance from the club members. Mr. Clifford Jones who spent last week here with his parents Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Jones, and his wife Lena, who has been bere since early summer, left for their River Forest, Illinois homo on Monday of this week. While here they drove to Lincoln to visit with their son and family Dr. and Mrs. Kenneth Jones of Lincoln. Last Friday Clifford and his mother drove to Murdock to visit with Mrs. L. B. Next regular meeting of the club is to be with Mrs. George Spangler on November 2nd. Funeral services were held for Mr. Grover Otte, brother of Mrs. Eugene Colbert and Mrs. William Van Avery, on Monday of this week. Hobson Funeral Home was in charge with burial in Oak wood cemetery. Mr. Otte had been seriously ill for quite some time in a Lincoln hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Stein kamp were Louisville visitors at the home of their son and fam ily, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Stein kamp. Mr. and Mrs. James Cook of Spokane, Washington, who have been visiting here with their ccusins, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Cook, started on their return trip by way of Plattsmouth where they will stop for visits with relatives there. Mi. and Mrs. Ralph Sell and family of Lincoln were last week end visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Sell. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Patten were Omaha business visitors last Tuesday.
