Weeping Water's main street received a much needed face washing lust Wednesday when the business men played the "Man on The Broom" role in a one act drama. Displaying the i oft repeated saying "Too Many Cooks Spoil the Broth" with I "Many Hands Make Light Work" they proceeded to sweep up the entire mainstreet, prior to the ; band concert that evening. The city water commissioner then opened the mains and hosed the refuse that had been swept to the gutters by the ambitious sweeper-uppers. This eliminated an excess usage of water, which we are cautioned by the water Commission to not use more than necessary because since the damages made by the flood re cently, water is being used dir-i ectly from the creek. The old lake has been drained completely so that the layers of mud and debris can be dredged out. This naturally then cuts off the supply of water that should be in the new lake. So folks, watch the water meter. Royal Neighbors are scheduled to meet Friday, July 28th. Mrs. Helen Callahan went to Omaha last week to visit with Mrs. Lizzie Reed and Mrs. Otis Wright.
