George Miller of Beaver Cross ing is spending the week here at the home of his daughter and family. Mr. and Mrs. Milford Meisinger. His home was anions those flooded over the week end. Mr. and Mrs. Everett Lindell and family went to York, Ne braska, Sunday afternoon to visit John Earl Lindell and fam ily, returning home on Monday. Warren Richard Wilkens. old est son of Mr. and Mrs. Gus Wilkens. was painfully injured Saturday morning while assist ing with baled hay. He is now getting around on crutches. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Panko were in Plattsmouth shopping on Saturday. The Murdock cafe has changed hands again. Mr. and Mrs. Arm strong, formerly of Plattsmouth, are the owners. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Boyd of Lincoln visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. James Boyd on Sunday. Robert Norton and family of New Jersey visited old friends in Murdock on Saturday. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Norton that formerly lived in Murdock. Mr. and Mrs. John Thorns of California visited old friends here in Murdock last week. The school board and Mrs. Rawalt held a picnic Wednesday evening at the Elmer Hallstrom home honoring Mr. and Mrs. Clair Wulber and daughters. The Wulbers are moving to Os ceola the middle of July where he will be Supt. of school. Mrs. Ernest Grllner and children left for thoir home in Chicago after a month's visit at the Wm. Gollner home. Mrs. Henry Smith entertained two card club ladies at her home Thursday honoring Mrs. Clair Wulber. Prizes went to Mrs. John and Mrs. Fred Mar quardt. Mrs. Elmer Ruffner of Otoe visited P.Iiss Kate Schomacher on Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Hillman, Fremont, visited her mother, Mrs. Ella Wulf over the July 4th holiday. Mrs. Joe Case spent last week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Hallstrom. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Stapleton and son. of Weeping Water were visiting in the town Saturday evening. The son arrived re cently at a Lincoln hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Stovall of Edgar announce the birth of a daughter recently. Mrs. Lois Tefft was in bed several days following a fall which severed an artery in her ankle. Mrs. Eva Bond has returned after a ten day visit in Okla homa visiting her sister there. Ted Nutzman of Omaha vis ited his mother here Sunday. Miss Betty Nichols sent the school board her resignation last week. She taught in the high school last year. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Morley. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Sill. Mrs. Nancy Carsten attended a picnic at Ne hawka Sunday, honoring Clyde Fleischman of Eugene Oregon. The House Keepers union nela tneir annual picnic at the town hall Sunday. It was to have been at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Emshoff. Miss Petronella Cullen return ed from Brule, Wise, where she visited her grandmother, who is seriously ill. Mrs. Emma Rawalt pntprt .lin ed at dinner Sunday, Mr. and ! Mrs. Floyd Amsbaugh of Oma ha, Mrs. Louise Spencer, Tal madge, Ralph Spencer and fam ily of St. Louis, Mo. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Ruhge spent several days at Wymore last week. Mr. Everman has been elected as Supt of school at Avoca. He formerly taught at Creston. Mr .and Mrs. Joe Onder and children spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Hy Jorgensen and Peggy Jorgensen went along for a visit at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Diller. No church service wil be held next Sunday at North Branch Lutheran church. Rev. and Mrs. Brasher plan to go to help his father observe his 50th year in the ministry. Albert Schutz was called to Elmwood Friday when his son, Joyce, had caught his hand in a fan belt. He was rushed to a Lincoln hospital for emergen cy treatment and one finger was amputated. He .s able to return home Sunday. Mrs. Clara Ruhge and Mrs. Caroline Bennecke visited at the John Mohr home Saturday eve ning. Melvin Carr . was recently graduated from the Lincoln School of Commerce. He took advanced accounting and C.P.A. training. He is employed at the First National Bank in Lincoln. ,Mr. and Mrs. John Rippe an- EUCTRiC COOKING IS inounce the engagement of their daughter, Elaine, to Merle Hen nings, son of Mr. and Mrs. El mer Hennings. No date has been set for the wedding. Both are graduates of Avoca high ployed at the Farmers State high school. Miss Rippe is em Bank and Merle with a con struction company in Omaha. The Dumke Stohlman's new house is now complete. They planned to have an open house Sunday but clue to the bad wea ther not many were able to at tend. Rev. Wm. Berger has been on the sick list last week. Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Swindle of Lincoln. Mr. and Mrs. Law rence Johnson and son of Plattsmouth called on Mrs. Har mon and Doris Sunday. Picnic guests for the Fourth of July at the Harmon home were Mr. and Mrs. Earle Har mon of Ralston, Mr. and Mrs. Hal Garnett, Madge and Greth, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence John son and son, Plattsmouth, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Burton and children. Weeping Water, Mi-, and Mrs. Wm. Demme and Ste phan, Mr. and Mrs. Norton Johnson, Ramona and Niel Johnson. Mrs. Alma Berner and Mrs. Caroline Tefft entertained the cemetery committee Friday at the Berner home in Weeping Water. It was reported the lawn mower was sold at the sale barn. Mrs. Wm. Johnson was unable to attend so Mrs. Tefft conducted the business for the day. Mrs. Ed Lorensen was a guest. Eighteen ladies were present to enjoy the new home of Mrs. Berner who for merly lived here. Band Concert Next Wednesday The concert by the Platts mouth high school band, sched uled io be given Wednesday night, was postponed on ac count of the storm. Director Ward Pscherer, of the band, will have the same program given on Wednesday, July 19th at 8 p.m. The concert will be at the usual place at 5th and Main streets.
