Board met pursuant to ad journment. Present: Parr Young. A. G. Reid and W. F. Nolte, County Commissioners, and Geo. R. Sayles. County Clerk. Minutes of last session ap proved, when the following business was transacted in repular form: The petition for the vacation of part of old road In the SE1; of the KEH of Section 19 Township 10, Range 13, East of the 6th P. M. in Cass County. Nebraska, was presented to the County Board by the County Clerk. It appeared that all of the provisions of the Statutes of Nebraska relative to the same have been complied vith; It iras moved hy Commissioner W. F. Nolte and seconded toy Commis sioner Parr Young that the said described road is hereby declar ed vacated by the Board of Commissioners of Cass County, Nebraska. Carried. The petition for the vacation of the road commencing at the Northwest comer of Section 32, Township 12, Range 10. East oi the 6th P. M. in Cass County, Nebraska, and ending at the NE corner of said Section, was presented to the County Board of Commissioners of Cass Coun ty. Nebraska, by the County Clerk It appearing that all of the provisions of the Statutes of Nebraska had been complied with; it was moved by Commis sioned A. G. J&eid and seconded by Commissioner W. F. Nolte that the said described road is hereby declared vacated by the Commissioners of Cass County, Nebraska. Carried. Mr. and Mrs. Don xissenger and daughter of South Dakota arrived Friday to spend some time at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Baumgartner. Mrs. Kissinger was formerly Hilde- erade Baumeartner. Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Stock are the proud parents of a son bom Saturday. This makes them two boys. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Kastens and family moved to Auburn, Nebraska, on Friday where they have purchased a home. Mrs. Gerald Meisinger's broth er and family from Texas are visiting here this week. Miss Ruth Guehlstorff is em ployed at the Triple A office in Weeping Water for the summer. Mr. and Mrs. Louie Seikjost, Mr. and Mrs. William Sehlueter and Earnest visited friends in the hospital in Omaha. Sunday. Mr. W. O. Gillespie was taken to the Bryan Memorial hospital where he will be under observa tion for several days again. Mr. and Mrs. Julius Jordan and family, who have been liv ing in the Eppings property are moving back to Ashland this week. On Monday evening. Mrs. Hannah Stock, Paul, Mrs. Mary Streich and Lydia, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Rosenow and Norma Bornemeier enjoyed a pienic supper on the Callahan lawn where an outdoor stove has been erected. Bible School got started Mon day morning with good attend ance. It will continue for two weeks. Quite a number of the smaller children are having a seige with the chicken pox. Mr. and Mrs. Warren Rikli had last Wednesday. They are getting j along nicely. j Repair work on the steeple at' Callahan church got underway on Monday. I Peru to Hold 80 Commencement Peru State Teachers college will hold its 80th commence ment on Friday, May 26th. Sixty nine degrees and diplomas will be awarded. Among highlights of the com mencement will be an address by Harry Burke, superintendent of Omaha public schools, speak ing on The Great Synthesis." Among students to be honor ed will be the following: Degrees: Jack E. Hallstrom, Avoca; Oliver Todd Mayfield. Louisville; Donald F. Temple meyer, Louisville. Two-Year Diplomas : Jean Lloyd. The feed cost per cow for this herd was $105 and there was an average return above feed costs of $144. This means that it cost $73 more per cow to feed the high pro ducing herd but the returns amounted to $255 more per cow. The average production of all cows in the association was 9,- Zb3 pounds of milk and 367 pounds of butterfat. The feed cost amounted to about $163 per cow.
