Family Dinner Held At Luetches Home Mr. and Mrs. Fred Luetchens were honored at a dinner for their fiftieth wedding anniver sary at their home at Wabash on Saturday. February 25th with their four children and fourteen grandchildren present. Their attendants of fity years ago, Mr. Carl Schlaphoff of Wavcrly, a cousin of the groom, and Mrs. Herman Luetchens. the bride's sister, were honored guests . The dinner was prepared by the children and a short pro pram was given by the family following the dinner. Those present besides the above mentioned were: Mrs. Carl Schlaphoff. Mr. Herman Luetchens, lister and Norma, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Schweppe, Marie ar.d Martha. Rev. Adams. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Fornoff Mr. and Mis. Ezra Luetchens, Wayne and Joanne. Those at tending from a distance were: Mr. and Mrs. Ed Buenhoeber and Donna, Mr. and Mrs. Don Buenhoeber of Ponca City, Ok lahoma, and Mr. and Mrs. Gil bert McClusky of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Will Enjoy Family Reunion in South Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Peterson de parted today (Thursday) for the south where they will enjoy a visit of some duration at the home of Mr. and Mrs. L. W. Bar ger, the latter the former Alice Peterson of this city, at Venice, Florida. The visit will also be a re union of the members of the family of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Petersen, Sr., all of the members of the family being there. Mrs. May Spies of On tario, California, has been there for the winter and Mrs. John E. Schutz of this city is making the trip by train to join the sis ters and brother in the reunion in the sunny south. Bernhardt of Plattsmouth, will sing in the alto section of the Hastings Col lege choir during the group's annual four state spring tour. A sophomore. SCHREINER DRUG Announce Engagement Mr. and Mrs. Lester Gansemer of Murray arc- announcing the engagement of their daughter, Miss Barbara Jean Gansemer. to Robert J. Krejci, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank J. Krejci. of this city. The couple are plan ning an early summer wedding. If the president and vice-president of the United States should both die, the secretary of state, an unelected official, would suc ceed to the office. Golden Wedding Of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Luetchens Mr. and Mrs. Fred Luetchens observed their golden wedding anniversary on Sunday, Febru ary 26th with open house at their country home near Wa bash. Mrs. Leutchens was the form er Henrietta Schweppe and the wedding occurred at the Em manuel Evangelistic United Brethren church near Murdock by Rev. A. Wichman. The couple stil lattend services at this church each Sunday. The bride of fifty years wore a gray dress with a corsage of pink carnations and the groom wore a gray suit wiht a carna tion boutonnire, each wearing a gola wrist watch, gifts of their children. The grandchildren gave them a gold colored blan ket. On the center of the dining room table was a three-tired cake with a miniature bride and groom on the top. There were gold candle holders with white candles on either side of the cake. The bride's dress of fifty years ago was on display at the gold en wedding observance. Over 260 relatives, neighbors and friends, other than their family, called during the day to offer best wishes to the honored couple. They received many beautiful flowers and useful gifts and many, many cards. There were also telephone calls from some who were un able to attend. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Prentice. Charles and Kenneth of Cedar Rapids. Nebraska. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Nielsen, Eugene and Lola Mae of Cushing. Nebraska, came to spend the day with the fam ily. All the four children and their families were present, Edna, at home, Harold Leutchens of Wa bash, his wife Ruth and child ren, Mable Reuben and Melvin. Tne members of the party were entertained on Saturday evening at the Wally Tucker home by their son and daughter-in-law. Donald and Camelle Sheard of LaPlatte. A very fine time was enjoyed by the group. On Sunday a large family dinner party was held at the Sheard home at 1708 Avenue D, that brought together all of the children to enjoy the day with the parents, and wish them many x more such happy anni versaries. The members after enjoying the fine dinner spent the day in visiting and in hon or of the anniversary the par ents were presented with many lovely gifts and among these a RCA radio and a Sunbeam mix ma.stcr. Those attending were Mr. d Mrs. Lemuel Sheard of Plattsmouth, John Sheard and wife Dorothy of Omaha, Mr. and Mrs. Max Taylor and children, Janice and Rodney of Council Bluffs. Friday, March 3 The Navy Mothers club will meet on Friday, March 3rd at 2 p. m. at the home of Mr.s. J. D. Worsham. All members are urg ed to be present. The Good Cause Kensington will hold their meeting on Fri day, March 3rd at the I. O. O. p. hall at 8 o'clock. Monday, March 6 Plattsmouth Woman's Club will meet Monday evening, March 6th at 8 p. m. at Edith Solomon's Coffee Shop Dining room. Mrs. Henry Donat will give a book review. Tuesday, March 7 Home chapter No. 189 of the j Order of the Eastern Star will hold a regular meeting at the chapter rooms in the Masonic building at 7:30 -p. m. Tuesday, March 7th. March 1st at 10'45 p. m., at the Methodist hospital, Omaha. The little one weighed five pounds and nine ounces. She has been named Regina Louise. Mollie Gobelman, chapeau, presided over the meeting of the salon. A constitution and by-laws for the salon were submitted and voted on by the members, members of the constitution and by-laws committee were Helen Vroman, Agnes Walling, Mary Nelson, Emma Cappell, Mollie Gobelman. Sophia Wolever, child welfare chairman, read a letter from a TB patient at the state tubercu lar hospital at Kearney, thank ing the members of Cass County Salon for gifts sent to this girl at Christmas time. Sophia Wol ever asked each member to pur chase a scrap book and have it filled with pictures by the next meeting, these books are to be sent to the Jewish hospital in Denver 'for the TB patients there, as most of the patients are bedfast and the scrap books are their only pastime. March 15th is the first anni versary of the Cass county sa lon, the members voting to have a birthday party at their regu lar meeting in March. Mollie Gobelman. chapeau, will furnish the birthday cake. Vera Warga was appointed as publicity chairman, and was in structed to purchase a book to hold the pictures and newspaper clippings. Marguerete Feldhousen and Emma Cappell were appointed to the child welfare committee to assist the chairman. The meeting was closed with the usual ritualistic ceremonies. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Luetchens of Wabash observed their golden wedding anniversary cn Sunday, February 26th at the family home, attended by all the children and grandchildren as well a.1 250 friends who came from all sections of the county and distant points to enjoy the day. The honorees were married at the Em manuel Evangelical United Brethren church by Rev. A. Wichmann fifty years ago. They are still regular attendants of the churcn. A family dinner party was held on Saturday, February 25th pro ceeding the open house. Fall Mars 57th Wedding Date Mr. and Mrs. William Rummel of this city observed their 57th wedding anniversary very quiet ly at their home Thursday, Fe'or. 23rd, enjoying a large num relativcs and old friends. It had been planned to have a dinner party on Sunday at the family home with Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Hall and daughter, Joan of Lincoln and Mr. and Mrs. John W. Rummel and Richard as guests. Sunday morning at 7:30 Mrs. Rummel fell at the home and fortunately escaped any broken ! bones, but was badly bruised j and shocked by the fall. Mrs. Vesta Thomas Seeks Presidency Old Plattsmouth and Cass county friends of Mrs. Vesta Thomas of Nebraska City will be interested in learning that she is announcing her candid acy for the office of state presi dent of the American Legion Auxiliary, in which she has long been an active figure. Mrs. Thomas has just com pleted a term as the grand cha peau of the 40 & 8 Societe of Nebraska, and is at this time child welfare chairman of the Nebraska City Legion Auxiliary. , Mrs. Thomas became a mem ber of the Auxiliary while a resident of Plattsmouth and was untirins in her work in the organization, and carried with her this great desire to aid in the work, when removins to Ne braska City, serving there in the various offices and was very successful as the unit president. For her fine services in the Legion Auxiliary she should find a strong support among the membership . Iowa Parties Married Here Tuesday afternoon at the of fice of County Judge Richard Peck at the court house occur red the marriage of Harry D. Lukehart and Orcelia Luehart, both of Red Oak, Iowa. The wedding services were witnessed by Phyllis Lukehart and Marion O. Kinduson, Jr., also of Red Oak.
