Har ry Murphy, cf Omaha, presi dent of te Nebraska Tuberculos is Association, sponsor of the 42nd annual Seal Sale. "It's true that we are accus tomed to using Seals on pack ages and letters during th Christmas season," he said, 'but the money received for them is used for tuberculosis control the year round, no mat ter what the season. It is def initely not too late to pay for the Seals because the work jt tuberculosis prevention and control which they will finance for the Nebraska Tuberculosis Association will continue through the 12 months of 1950. Poul try judging contest held at the Ak-Sar-Ben Poultry Congress, the Cass County team won the first place trophy. Eleven teams were ntered with 39 boys and gins from Nebraska and Iowa competing. The Cass team scored a total of 1569 points out of a possible 1875 points. Members of the team wereJack Norris, Weep ing Water: James Pollard and Jimmie Bailer, of Nehawka. Al ternates were John Norris. of Weeping W'ater, and Tommy Johnson, of Nehawka. The team was coached by local 4-H club leaders, Mrs. Hall Pollard, of Nehawka, and Clarence Norris, of Weeping Water. Jack Norris, High Individual Judge Jack Norris, was high indi vidual judge scoring 564 points out of a possible 625. He there fore was awarded two beautiful trophies. James Pollard was the 7th place winner as individ ual judge. The team trophy is a perman ent possession of Cass County and is on display at the County Extension office. Program Raises 345,000 The 1949 Christian Rural Overseas Progam has raised $45, 000 so far, Dwight Dell, CROP chairman reported. Dell announced these figures it a meeting of the CROP state committee Friday in Lincoln. We have almost complete reports from 13 Nebraska coun ties, and partial reports from 13 more," Dell said, "and CROP v'olunteers have already coIlecU ?d the equivalent of 31 cars'1 in commodities and money. These donations will be turned over! to Catholic, Lutheran and other Protestant agencies for distri-' bution to the needy overseas. The Committee made plan : for the dedication cf the 1P40 Nebraska Friendship Food Trail:. This year the train itself wi" not be dedicated. Instead, a miniature, symbolic train will be exhibited in the main rotunda of the State Capitol Building in Lincoln.
