Sand Mr. and Mrs. David Damon of Lincoln were guests for the afternoon ana a picnic supper of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Thacker Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Wessel and Carolvn attended a family pic nic at the home of her sister. Mrs. Curtis Dixon and family at Fort Calhoun Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Wieckhorst of Lincoln were week end guests of his parents, Mr. ana Mrs Herman Wieckhorst. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schacht and family of Lockney, Texas were overnight guests of Mr and Mrs. E. H. Shoemaker on Thursday. Their last visit here was in 1919. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Heesch and Norma of Seymour, Iowa -were week end euests of Mr and Mrs. E. H. Shomaker. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Heesch called at the Shomaker home Satur day pveninff. : Mr. and Mrs. Glen Thacker drove to Imperial Wednesday tp visit at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Hoffmeister. They attended the Hereford Tour on Wednesday. Beverly Bonner, who attended the Rainbow As sembly as grand" chaplain of the state, returned home with Mr. and Mrs. Thacker on Thurs day. Mrs. A. F. Sturm accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lemon to Lincoln Tuesday. Robert Pollard, county agent of Howard county, spent the week end with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oren Pollard. Robert came here from Grand Island, where he broadcast from KM MJ concerning the Howard county fair, which will be held the same week as the state fair. The County Extension office is situated at St. Paul, Neb. Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Berger were guests for the day of her brother. Harold Wilken and family at DeWitt. Other guests were Mrs. L. W. Wilkens and Allegra, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. S. Damkroeger of Lincoln, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Smith and Mrs. Mol lie Berger of Ashland and Mrs. Ella Jones of Clatonia. Mrs. Oliver Bogenrief of Oma ha was a guest from Friday until Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin McReynolds. On Sunday Delmar Bogenrief and Bonnie Cutler of Omaha and Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Kime and Marlin joined them for dinner. Marlin Kime returned to Omaha with CRUSHED STONE O W. C. Sunday, afternoon cal lers at the Schlichtemeier home were Mr. and Mrs. John Budin of Omaha. Mrs. WiU Ost entertained, at dinner Sunday honoring- the birthdays of Mrs. E. A. Nutzman, Boyd May field and Will Ost. , Others than the guests of hon or were Mrs. C. D. St. John,. Mrs Boyd Mayfield and children, Janet, Mildred and Dean Nutz man and Mr. and Mrs. Ned Nutzman and Anne. Mr. and Mrs. Will Ost were business visitors in Lincoln on Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Victor Peterson Jr. and family of Longmont, Colo., called at the home of. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Wieckhorst Thursday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Doedyns and daughter of Austin, Texas, arrived at the home- of her par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Ander son, for a ten day visit. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Romans and son of Lincoln were euests at the Anderson home Saturday night On Sunday they drove- to. Oma ha to attend a picnic at the home of Mrs. Alta Romans. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Meisinger, Carlene and Richard, Eileen Neeman and Donald Kroese of Cook called at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Anderson Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Balfour called at the home of Dena Rhuge at Avoca Saturday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bates spent the week end with their son, Clark and family at Beatrice. Mrs. W. J. Power and twin sons of Jefferson City, Mo., is visiting this week with Mr. and Mrs. Walter Power. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Meisinger of Murray, called at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bates Sunday evening. Johnny Owens of Lincoln spent last week with his grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Power. On Thursday they at tended the county fair at Weep ing Water. Mr. and Mrs. Rex Allen and Rex Jr., of Hollywood, Calif., left for their home Friday after spending a month visiting rela tives here and at Chicago. Mr. Allen's first movie, "Arizona Cowboy," will be released soon. Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Lewis of Poughkeepsf, New York visited from Wednesday until Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Linder. Connie Linder and a group of WLS entertain ers from Chicago were guests Sunday afternoon and evening of Mr. and Mrs. Linder. They stopped here on their way home from Columbus and David City where they had entertained on programs. Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Edmonds and family returned Sunday from Elmore, Minn., where they had visited relatives the past week. They stopped at West Bend, la., to see the grotto of national fame. This grotto was built by a priest 82 years old and is made of rocks from all over the world. It portrays the Life of "Christ. Seventy-five to one hundred thousand people visit there every year. Mr. and Mrs. Kent Balfour, Mr. and Mrs. Mark Wieckhorst drove to Des Moines,. Iowa, Sat urday to attend the Iowa State Fair. They returned Sunday evening. Gladys Edmonds spent the week end at Nebraska City at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Edmonds. Mr. and Mrs. Kent Balfour and family and Mrs. Helen Pet erson and son of Nebraska City, spent the day Monday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Graham Hendricks in Omaha. Kay Hend ricks returned home after spending several weeks with Mrs. Peterson. Mrs. G. W. Weik and children visited over the week end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Malzachar, at Neligh and with Mr. Weik's mother, Mrs. G. L. Weik, at Plainview. Mr. and Mrs. Victor Turner and family visited his mother, Mrs. J. J. Turner, at Peru,. Sun day. Richard Graves returned home with them to spend the week. Mr. and Mrs. R. G. Yost and family of Lincoln spent the day Sunday with. Mr. and Mrs. John Chandler.
