Maseman and Mrs. Lynn Hoback as hostesses in the church parlors. Devotions were led by Mrs. Roy Ruhge. Rev. Wm. Berger showed pictures and gave a talk on "Puerto Rico." A quilt was put in and some of the ladies quilted. Mrs. Julia Kokjer and Fran ces Ruge were dinner guests at the Ernest Emshoff home Thurs day. Mrs. Henry Maseman is tak ing care of her daughter, Mrs. Myron Shroeder, at her home in Bennett. Mrs. Shroeder re turned from the hospital Sun day following an appendicitis operation. A group of friends gathered at the Paul Wolph home Sun day for a picnic. Mrs. Fred Marquardt and children accompanied by her mother, Mrs. Bedalia Stander of Louisville, and her aunt, Mrs. Louie Ross of Nehawka, are visiting her sister's family Mr. and Mrs. K. V. White and sons at Sprinefield, Mo. Mrs. II. H. Iviarcuardt receiv ed word of the death of her brother. Viscount Francis, at Belleville, Kansas, Friday. Fun eral services were held Sunday. Harry, Joan and Fred Mar quardt attended the funeral. Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Carr left for their vacation Friday night. Mr. Nuld of Dunbar is taking charge of the depot. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Schutz and children are visiting her parents at Orleans, Nebr. Mrs. Henning's mother, Mrs. Gauer, cf Louisville, has been spending a few days with her. In observance of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Wulf's wedding anni versary, they entertained Tues day evening with a pinochle party. Berger. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Amsbaugh of Omaha, visited her sister, Mrs. E. M. Rowalt, Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Stubben dick are vacationing at Yellow stone Park, Estes Park and the Rocky Mountains. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Johnson and family are vacationing at Yellowstone Park and Pocatella, Idaho. At the church meeting Sun day L. C. Ruhge was elected as trustee to take the place of Win. Baier. Rev. Wm. Berger will take his vacation for the next two weeks. Rev. W. L. Hadsell will fill in for the two Sundays Rev. Berger will be gone. Mr. and Mrs. Hans Jensen and Mr. and Mrs. Rasmus Jen sen and daughters left Monday to visit relatives in Washington, D. C. The Goldenrod Garden Club went to Nebraska City Monday afternoon on a picnic in Arbor Lodge and also visited some of the gardens. Mr. and Mrs. Orville Paxton and sons of Illinois, spent the week-end with her sister, Mr. and Mrs. Merle Tressler and Keith. Dr. and Mrs. J. W.- Brendel returned home from a trip to Colorado Saturday. While on the trip they visited Yellowstone Park also saw the "Passion Play" which was held in the Black Hills. Mr. and Mrs. John Stubben dieck visited Sunday with Mrs. Ella Spangler of Nebraska City and also attended the Soap Box Derby. Sunday dinner guests at the Marius Nelson home were Mr. and Mrs. Robert McDonald and daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Ed ward Nelson and sons, Mr. and Mrs. Hy Dankleff, Mrs. Sailing and Miss Matilde Madsen. In observance of Jack Hulls- trom's 21st birthday, dinner guests at the Elmer Hallstrom home were Mr. and Mrs. Joe Case of Plattsmouth, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hullstrom and Bar bara Lee and Mr. and Mrs. Tom Hallstrom of Peru.
