Board met pursuant to ad journment. Present Parr Young and W. F. Nolte, County Com missioners, and Geo. R. Sayles, County Clerk. Commissioner H. L. Bornemeier, absent. (Sick). Minutes of last session ap proved, when the following busi ness was transacted in regular form: RESOLUTION: WHEREAS, on July 19, If J, payment was made to the Treasurer of Cass County in full satisfaction of Assistance Lien arising from filing certificate of award to Mary Anna Erskine, Number 13-1083-AI by Depart ment of Assistance, in office of Register of Deeds and County Treasurer's receipt Number 37 was issued therefore; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RE SOLVED that Ruth Patton, County Treasurer, be and is hereby directed in pursuance of Statute 60-215 Session Laws for 1947, to make a release of said Lien recorded in the Office of the Register of Deeds, Book 72, Page 598 of Mortgages, described as West 55 feet of Lot Three (3) and East Half of Lot Four (4), Block Sixty-Eight (68) In the City of Weeping Wa ter, Cass County, Nebraska. Sayles, County Clerk RESOLUTION: WHEREAS, a petition signed by more than 51 of the resi dent freeholders of South Bend precinct of Cass County, Ne braska was filed in the office of the County Clerk of Cass Coun ty, Nebraska on September 15, 1948, requesting the Board of County Commissioners of Cass County, Nebraska to levy an as sessment for one year only, not to exceed one mill on the dollar upon the actual valuation of all ihe taxable property, except in tangible property, in said South Bend precinct, for the purpose of improving, by placing gravel thereon, the public highway des cribed and located as follows, to-wit: Commencing at the South east corner of the North east Quarter of Section 27, Township 12 North, Range 10, running thence North one and one-half miles, be tween Sections 26 and 27 and Sections 22 and 23, to connect with the present gravel road at the North east corner of the Northeast Quarter of Section 22, Town ship 12 North, Range 10 in said South Bend Precinct, being a total of one and one-half miles of roads, and all being in sajid South Bend Precinct in Cass County, Nebraska, and WHEREAS, Lucille Horn Gaines, Register of Deeds of Cass County, Nebraska has filed a certificate with the County Clerk of Cass County, Nebraska, certifying that more than 51 of the resident freeholders of South Bend precinct of Cass County, Nebraska have signed said petition. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RE SOLVED that said petition be approved and allowed and that a levy of one mill be made for the year 1949 in accordance with the provisions of 39-242 R. S. Supp. of Nebraska, 1947. It was moved by Commission er W. F. Nolte and seconded by J Commissioner Parr Young that the ioregoing resoiuuon De adopted.
